Do a bit of research and you might find that a trip to Africa won't be quite as expensive as you might think. A guided elk, moose or bear hunt would probably cost more than a plains game hunt in Africa. Don't let the dream die. :)

This sounds like the same reserve we hunted for plains game in 2009. Location was in the Free State between Bloemhof and Hoopstad.

On our last trip, I took my Garmin 450 which is bit aged, given how fast technology changes. I kept locations of shot/downed animals and it even kept an elevation profile. I was able to pull the locations and see them on Google Earth to get an overhead view of where I was. It was fun.
