Yes, most of the warthogs being shot have been around the Chaparral Wildlife Management Area. My Dimmit County lease is a couple of miles from Brittingham's Ranch. I really think someone in my lease will get a warthog in the next few years.
Congrats on your trophies! My only regret when I hunted with Limcroma in 2015 is that I didn't take my wife. I can see you got to share your hunts with your sweetheart. Oh well I guess I'll have to plan another trip. Congratulations again!
Nice! Reminded me of the time when my create made it to me! Good times for sure! Enjoy doing your own taxidermy! You have plenty of work ahead. Congrats again!
Welcome Dee! Small world, I also live just south of San Antonio,Texas in Lytle, Texas. Good luck on your trips to Alaska and Nambia. I bow hunted in 2015 with Limcroma Safaris and Bear hunted in 2016 in Arizona. Planning on returning to Africa now that I just picked up my last trophy from the...
Something that helped me was to shoot through a cardboard with a rectangular cut out to simulate shooting through a shooting window from an African hide. I used to two wooden saw horses and a staple gun.
This time last year I was shooting everyday for my August safari. Have fun y'all!
Awesome video Riaan! I hunted Limcroma with Tony and his boys last August! Hoping to return next year! Just paid my taxidermy for the last shoulder mount! I want a bush pig on my next trip! Thanks for sharing!
definitely good to see fellow Texans. I took some photos but not as many as I should've! I was to focused on videoing my hunts that I neglected to just snap pics..
My favorite food is anything Mexican that my wife cooks. But my favorite food that I make is my Texas brisket and smoked turkey!!! My stuff whitetail backstrap is pretty tasty too!
The time spent preparing and practicing during the off season. Checking my equipment to ensure I don't have equipment failure but the most enjoyable thing for me is executing the shot and reliving the moment over and over.
I'm not going to lie...if I'm successful its more enjoyable!
I recently picked up my warthog from my taxidermist because I decided to keep him as a Euro display instead of shoulder mounting it. I made a base for it using rebar and a piece of wood I had lying around. Proud of my wart hog. I think he was a lefty :)
I took a lot of video prior to the shots but my PH Otto took over once the shot was about to be taken. I showed up with my tripod the very first morning but he offered to video. Otto did a wonderful job and the tripod never made it to any of the hunts. (y)(y)(y)(y)(y)(y)(y)
