I know it's a long shot. Looking for a buffalo hide so I could have my buffalo mounted. I'm trying to fix all the issues I had with the crappy taxidermist I dealt with in South Africa.
I'm not naming him because we are still trying to make things some what right. But to be honest its...
I went to the Eastern Cape. I shot the only Kudu bull I seen. I shot him on the second day. He measured at 52 3/8. The question is are you willing to come home without a kudu? You dont have to answer to us on here. You only have to answer to yourself. Its hunting. You never know what's...
Stop worring about it. 30-06 180g A-frame. I never needed a second round on any animal I shot at. Including my wildebeest.
I did need 4 rounds with a 375 for my buffalo at 12 yards but that's another story.
Just got back 2 days ago from my first safari. Waterbuck wasn't on the list and it was an awesome add to the hunt.
Till the last day buffalo was added. Buffalo was a mind blowing addition to the hunt. You have never hunted until you have been 10 yards away from a buffalo.
I was waiting for someone to say it. I was trying to wait and be nice.
It is actually a 8 hour drive round trip for me. But suck it up buttercup it's Africa and it's worth it to me. First trip in june.
The one Dennis did is by far the better one to me. A better test would have been to post pictures without telling us who did either one. It amazes me people don't like his work. Or even compare his to African work that I have seen. IMO.
I hope Dennis can find the time to do a couple of my...
I'm trying to decide if I want nikon d3400 or the d5500 with the 18-50mm kit lens. Then buying a second lens 55-200mm or the 70-300mm. Looks like both of you take the 200mm. Sounds for the advice.
What camera and lenses do you take with you. For wildlife pictures and landscape pictures. And of course pictures of you with your animals after the kill. Thanks.
I'm planning my first trip over. I'm only 4 months out. I've been planning for over a year and I'm on a budget. Just speaking for myself. I had alot less stress thinking about the money when I stopped trying to total it all up and get a final number. Once I started saying Oh I need to buy...
I wanted to start this topic. Because a guarantee was offered on this site. I personally think this is where alot of people come home unhappy with a hunt. It's a word that's used alot on ad's. And then in someway or another an outfitter or booking agent weasels there way out of it by saying...
I don't see any of this as off topic. I think a lot of hunters have opinions. It just happens to be that it's not what some people want to hear. I think it all has to do with valve/experience vs cost.
I pissed enough people off with my posts today. So I didn't say anything tell now but if you think there's only a few bad apples In this bussiness your crazy. If there was only a handfull of bad apples in Africa or north America this site wouldn't exist. Just because someone is a member of...
I will try to make this my last post. I Wrongly linked two topics from James. My point was Hunters usually come home disappointed because they didn't get something they thought they paid for ie a promise or a guarantee. James point was comparing price of a low fence to a high fence
Now to the...
Thanks James, was not trying to start a fight. Sorry if it came out wrong. Thanks for your reply. Buffalo is next on my list after my first safari this summer. Thanks again.
The whole start to this tread was the author of the post. Said he was at a show and hunters where choosing a small game farm buffalo hunt over his wild Africa Buffalo. And then those Hunters were coming home disappointed. My point is people come home disappointed from a hunt because they did...
The only reason this is a topic is because booking agents and Outfitters make promises they can't keep. Like you did yesterday and then deleted it. Instead of of defending the " guarantee" in your offer you just deleted it. Again if all outfitters were on the up and up this would not be a...
I really wasn't trying to be rude. Just seems to me you had more then 1 or 2 problems with the same company. I gave them two chances and their product was defective after a month usage. I'm just saying if you keep buying from them. You probably should get use to being disappointed. And...
I had two major issues with leica back when Cabelas would take anything back for any reason. After that I bought Swarovski. Who cares if leica is the only company that has product A or a good price on product b If it doesn't work? The only way to solve the problem is to quit buying there...
5 months from today I will be leaving for the Eastern cape. The first safari for my wife and I. I haven't gotten any work done today. It's all I can think about.
Like it or not those men died for freedom of speech and freedom to choose your religion. Before you jump on me about that. I served my country. I don't like what he did but it's his right. And it's your right to complain about it. It's America.
