Bubba, the cartridge dimensions are available in the -CIP site https://www.cip-bobp.org/en -SAAMI site https://saami.org/ The two measuring systems are slightly different. If you plan to use US made ammo go with SAAMI, if you prefer European or British ammo use CIP.

You can declare it is an alias. In Finland, to do an exmple, the Russian 7,62 x 54 Mosin Nagant cartridge is named 7,52x53 R. The cartridge is identical, but the measuring method is different.
