Not becuase they are very inexpensive but because they work. The rings secure the scope to the picatinny rail with confidence, the quick release works as it should, and the scope always holds zero.
I use them on my 30-06 and on my shotgun with magnum slugs which can surpass a 458 win mag in...
I have noticed that winchester and benelli are using a rotary bolt design on there pump action shotguns, just curious for your opinions on the rotary design.
Thank you.
Personally, I use a 12 gauge pump with 00 bucksot and slugs with a flahlight attached.
How about you?
edit, assuming you're hunting from a tent base. May be they don't use tents in Africa anymore, not sure.....
I recently inhereted two 43 mausers complete with a box of paper patched black powder cartridges and a box of smokeless cartridges.
I have read since that the .43 masuer has strong African history.
So .... what do you know about the .43 masuer?
Thanks
Just did a calculation using a Taylor KO calculator. My round ball scored 76. That is a .690 RB at 495 grains going 1550 fps from a 12 gauge shotgun.
Does not sound right? If it is right then the TB at 100 yards will be impressive.
What do you think?
Hello all!
Never been to Africa, but intend going, I have a reletive SA.
Guns I own and like .... 30-06 mauser, 12 gauge mossberg pump, 22lr and soon to be a 458 wim mag mauser.
Cheers
