I suppose that settles it. But the serial number doesn't jive with a NH gun, and the bolt shroud is like the FN rifles. It would be interesting to know if the trigger is the traditional M70 type or the MOA (enclosed) trigger like the FNs. Also, does it have one piece or two piece bottom metal...

I apologize if I'm incorrect, but I believe that is an FN manufactured rifle, not New Haven. The serial number does not begin with a "G", which all New Haven manufactured M70s do. Not a knock on the rifle at all. Personally I prefer the FN guns.

I would suggest that you look into the particulars of having it shipped to the USA, given the comments about the European market. There are dealers/shippers who can help with that, although I cannot give you any names. If you have those details arranged and advertise it for sale here in the US...

A little hard to tell the era this rifle is from based on the pics, but the hole in the bolt handle, rear sight and forend checkering pattern look pre 64. So, def a valuable rifle. I do see some dealers in the us trying to get 8-10k for these, but have no idea if the sell or not.

Thank you for the detailed explanation. I agree, far too many rifles to not feed properly as they come from the factory. Especially for a custom shop gun. It’s interesting though that the problem is involved feeding, and not the notorious extractor.

A Turnbull case colored 1886 with a stock made from that wood would be spectacular. I had niter blued screws for the final touch.
