I figured they were designed to open up at 30-30 speeds, should really open up at 30-06 speed, worked perfect

Was during Covid, and was only .30 cal bullets i could find, but they worked perfect and shot under 1/2” in my supergrade

Have used Barnes TSX, Swift A Frames and Nosler Partitions, all worked just fine, will use Barnes from now on, have plenty for the rest of my hunts

I have bought several used Zeiss Conquest on ebay for $450-500 , all were as new, have one on my pre-64 .300 H&H, love those scopes

My leopard, buffalo…… from Zambia June 22 just got to Houston last week, my Cameroon trophies from Jan 23 are just now being shipped, it just takes a while

I went to Zambia and shot my best buff, hippo and croc, was a blast up in the Luangwa Valley, IMO buffalo hunting is much funner than hippo

Agree, i have reloaded all my bullets for every hunt

Took my RSM .375 HH to Tanzania and shot a couple buff - performed well but the stock was a little thick and carried like a log tracking buff for miles daily, bought a Whitworth .375 HH and it carries much better, has become my favorite DG rifle, shoots well and easy to carry, shot my best 2...

Have a .30-40 Krag Jorg and we have shot alot of deer w it, using factory ammo, have also shot alot of deer and a big cougar w a .32-20 w lead bullets, worked fine also

We have had guinea fowl soup many times in Zambia - my wife and I’s favorite, also while elephant hunting miles from camp, we shot some guineas and smoked them on a stick for lunch - it was amazing, plus we didnt have to drive back to camp

7x57 .300 HH .375 HH

Been double throwing for 30 yesrs, once its set properly it just takes an extra couple seconds than one throw, the trickling is what takes so long, i just use a small spoon to finish it off, havent waited in years to get exact either, close is close enough, especially on the big stuff IMO

I have a few 99’s, .303 Savage, .250-3000, .300 Savage , have shot whitetails and muleys w all of them - classic guns and cartridges - there is a Savage forum on another site that has everything you will ever want to see/read about 99’s

Have hunted most of the North American species and my favorite and the most challenging have been the mature mule deer in the sandhills of west Texas and eastern New Mexico

My daughter shot an eland in Botwana with a .308, and whatever camp ammo was available

I have Whitworths in .458, .375, 30-06,.284 and 7x57, the .284 was rebarreled but it shoots under .5”, 7x57 was finicky but finally got it under .5”, .375 shoots under 1” and same point of impact with just about every load - favorites are 300 Barnes TSX and 300 Cutting Edge Solids
