The Vaquero is surprisingly light (that is a big hole in the barrel) and quite comfortable to carry and would be very comforting in bear country

I would use the .454 Casull for plains game and the .500 Linebaugh for Buffalo. Of course the .454 has been used on Buffalo quite effectively also. If I were to hunt Elephant (tuskless probably because it is a heck of a lot cheaper) I would use the .500 for them

That is where the plunger/ejector makes contact with the case. If you are referring to the primers it is soot. The bolt shows no signs of any damage

I would love to take my .50-90 Sharps to Africa. What are the opinions on using it on a tuskless hunt? I can load a 700 gr hardcast lead bullet at 1300 FPS or could go with a 600 gr at 1400 FPS. Would this be too light?
