I just noticed that the Winchester has a capacity of 3 and the CZ has 5. I don't know how I feel about that.

You're right, the Winchester does look more classic than the CZ. The only problem is I can't find it in stock anywhere! I looked at some online distributors, called my local shops, and nothing. But, I might wait it out until I can find one. It does look nice.

They offer another with a straight stock. I've never looked into it, but I haven't heard anything bad about the European stock. I'll do some more research.

Well, that settles it. Since, even when I asked for critiques, I only got praise, I'm gonna have to pick one up! I'm going to get the CZ 550 Safari in .375 H&H. I've had my eye on it already.

Since I began researching African hunting, I have seen .375 H&H doted on more than any other caliber. In my philosophy, nothing is perfect. So where are the critics? What are the realistic limitation of .375? When is it overpowered? When is it underpowered? Alternative calibers?

Oh! I misunderstood. The hunting I most enjoyed was ground hunting whitetails in Wisconsin. No tree stands, no blinds. It felt real, less like shooting fish in a barrel. I'm not a fan of blinds and feeders in the same way I wouldn't want to hunt from a vehicle or at a watering hole in Africa...

Do Mannlicher stocks actually do anything? Or are the just for aesthetic purposes. I can understand if you said that it reduces barrel harmonics, but that wouldn't matter unless you were shooting at extreme long distances. Thoughts?
