So from what I understand, its just like all other government policies. Clear, easy to understand, and always 100% logical and fair. :D

    VETPAW kicked out of Tanzania

During her 15 minutes, misinformation was everywhere. Articles were saying she was an army officer. She was never an officer. She said her job was killing poachers. You know how many poachers she killed? Zero. Like it says here in this article, she just flat out lies about her position. She only...

Which sport hunted trophies may not be imported back into the United States?

Well, I ask because I have no real set plans as of yet. I would like to stick to mainly SA or Namibia for my first safari. Specifically, I wanted to know about white rhino in SA, or anywhere else for that matter. I heard, I guess incorrectly, that no rhino trophies could be imported to the US...

Which sport hunted trophies may not be imported back into the United States?

Some species may be allowed to be hunted in a particular African country however some may not be brought back to the US. My question is what trophies can't I bring back to the US? I'm pretty sure I know some (rhino, cheetah?, etc.) but I might be wrong. I just don't want to set my heart on a...

    Good traditional safari jackets?

It's all good. You know, to an extent, I am trying not to care what PHs think of how I dress. I think the whole ensemble contributes to the experience. I'm picking up some Courteney boots (that I will definitely hike in before I go anywhere near Africa). Could be worse. I'm not going to wear...

Is... is that a ridiculous question? I don't know, I don't think it is.

    Good traditional safari jackets?

It is nice. It's right at that cut off (in my opinion) between something that I can justify wearing in the field and something that is too expensive. Might have to pursue it.

    Good traditional safari jackets?

Does anyone know of any durable yet breathable safari jackets good for year round use? I'd like any suggestions, but traditional style is preferred. Most of what I've found is cheap and too thin to hold up.

    Introduction Double Rifle Recommendations?

So, is the .450-400 3" the same as .400 Jefferey NE? (I think I heard that before, but I could just be making it up). How does this compare to the .470 NE? A large portion of what I see for sale is .470 On a completely different note, where did you go for water buffalo?

    Introduction Double Rifle Recommendations?

To cover all options, how much would you say I would have to increase my budget to get an acceptable quality, reliable rifle? +3,000? +5,000? I suppose it is possible to pay more, it will just take more time.

    Introduction Double Rifle Recommendations?

Now, to be quite honest, before I joined this forum I had only vague knowledge of the existence of double rifles. Since then, if there's one this I learned, it's that they are expensive. I see their value for dg, but I'm in no rush to hunt dg. However, I do want to start saving for one. Do you...

Solid color or camo? Traditional or modern stylings?

Do you prefer to wear camo or just solid colors when hunting? I was always partial to muted solid colors (khaki, od green, etc.) Also, if you showed up in Africa wearing one of those traditional khaki safari jackets, will your PH laugh you out of the continent? Just trying to avoid making a fool...

    .375 H&H Do Critics Exist?

As the ancient saying goes, "and you could probably do it with a frozen herring, but what's the point?" I'll have to look into both, read some testimonials, before I make a final decision. Like I said in a different post, I come from the "tacticool" community, so its hard to give up capacity. It...

    .375 H&H Do Critics Exist?

You're right, the Winchester does look more classic than the CZ. The only problem is I can't find it in stock anywhere! I looked at some online distributors, called my local shops, and nothing. But, I might wait it out until I can find one. It does look nice.

    .375 H&H Do Critics Exist?

Well, that settles it. Since, even when I asked for critiques, I only got praise, I'm gonna have to pick one up! I'm going to get the CZ 550 Safari in .375 H&H. I've had my eye on it already.

    .375 H&H Do Critics Exist?

Since I began researching African hunting, I have seen .375 H&H doted on more than any other caliber. In my philosophy, nothing is perfect. So where are the critics? What are the realistic limitation of .375? When is it overpowered? When is it underpowered? Alternative calibers?

    Where to start?

Oh! I misunderstood. The hunting I most enjoyed was ground hunting whitetails in Wisconsin. No tree stands, no blinds. It felt real, less like shooting fish in a barrel. I'm not a fan of blinds and feeders in the same way I wouldn't want to hunt from a vehicle or at a watering hole in Africa...

Mannlicher Full Length Stock. Any Real Purpose?

Do Mannlicher stocks actually do anything? Or are the just for aesthetic purposes. I can understand if you said that it reduces barrel harmonics, but that wouldn't matter unless you were shooting at extreme long distances. Thoughts?

    Multiple Rear Blade Sights?

I expected not. I have always been into the more "tactical" shooting style here in the US, so I'm not too familiar with hunting rifles, and I'm slowing finding that these are the types of features you can pay dearly for. Thanks for the help!

    Multiple Rear Blade Sights?

I recently saw a post on a thread about the best all purpose caliber (sorry, I don't remember who posted it), and they said their choice for the best set up would be a .375 H&H with rear blade sights cut for 50 yds, one for 100 yds, and the third for 200 yds. Now, I've been into shooting sports...
