I used TSA. TSA opened my bowcase leaving the US and arriving back in the US. They leave a paper notifying you that they inspected it.

I flew into Joberg last year with bow case that looked like a rifle case and I had put stickers on it that said "Archery Equipment" and it still ended up with the rifles. All I had to do was open it for them and show that I only had a bow in it and sign the book.
