Questions about the African Carry and Others

While I never heard it called the "Rhodesian Carry" I have carried my sling equipped rifles this way for many years, I also use this method to carry my turkey guns. On a rifle or shotgun without a sling I typically carry with my weak side arm pointing up and to the side. If I'm hunting alone...

    Leupold Custom Shop Closed

I had to wait on a replacement pistol scope after I sent a 40 year old one in for repair. I got a free replacement as soon as they were available. I was sad to see the custom shop closed as I had a couple of scopes I wanted to upgrade.

AH Get Together In Dallas During Dallas Safari Club (DSC) Convention 2022

This get together is always a wonderful time for me, unfortunately I just don't see any way I'll be able to make it this time. So to my friends old and new and to those yet to be met, have a great time at the dinner, enjoy the convention and safe travels. May this trip be the start of your best...

    Thoughts on the 9.3 x 62 Mauser

My Husqvarna 640 9,3x62 is a no thumb cut FN 98 action so the '96 was not the only one sans the "cut". I love my rifle it is easy to shoot and superbly accurate and I would buy another in a heartbeat. I think I paid $600 for mine IIRC but that was several years ago now. My rifle was in original...

    Backpacks

I use an Eberlestock X1for my pronghorn hunts. I can skin and quarter an antelope and pack it all out in one trip. If I bone the antelope out I can still get most of the meat in a single trip. I have had my X1 for about 10 years I think so there is a newer version...

    .375 Holland & Holland

That depends on shot placement, this was about 130 yard shoulder shot. I was loaded for buffalo when the Oribi showed up. I would still use the Aframe for anything other that Elephant though. Unless something changes drastically though I have no plans to hunt Elephant.

    .350 Remington Magnum

I have thought about this more than once, I bet those Accubonds would work well in an Encore!

    .350 Remington Magnum

No need to get the form dies, the regular loading dies work just fine, it is as you say "a bit of playing around" but not too bad. I have successfully made .350 RM brass from both .300 WM and 7mm RM. The only problem I have had so far with my 673 is not being able to load Nosler Accubonds to an...

Wanted .375H&H Dies, Brass, Bullets, Variety Of Ammunition

Congrats on the new rifle! While I don't have any components or ammo for sale I will say that my Whitworth shoots almost anything well the single exception being the 235 grain Barnes X and it feeds anything I have tried. I'll double check my bullet stash and see what I can find.

Wanted Federal 375 H&H Ammo Boxes

I don't know about SA but in Tanzania they opened my ammo boxes, counted the rounds and checked the headstamp, mine were in factory boxes and my son-in-law had his in aftermarket plastic boxes, they didn't seem to mind the plastic boxes. To be safe you could print up some sort of stick on label...

A Pair Of Canvasbacks Full Mount Taxidermy

Nice job Erik ! I too like to see something different from the usual waterfowl poses. I had a big "bull" Canvasback mounted hanging on a duck strap that I always liked, sadly I guess some miscreant needed it worse than I did and stole it.
