I have the Khales Helia C 2.5-10x50 on my 375 H&H and a Swarovski Z6 1.7-10x42 non illuminated on my 8x57. Both are fantastic scopes and I would be hard pressed to say which is better. The Kahles is FFP if the you prefer that.

A nice Bushbuck ram taken with my 300H&H in the Koedoeskop area in Limpopo last weekend. They are an awesome species to stalk!

The last batch that I loaded for my 7x57 comprised of, Hornady 175gr RNSP, 44 gr of Somchem S365 and PMP cases. COL was .3050, average velocity was approximately 2550 fps maybe a touch faster. Was MOA in my rifle. Worked well in the Bushveld and I shot a variety of plains game with it.

An early Sako Mauser in 300 H&H. The original stock was cracked and in bad shape. Made it a good candidate for a rebuild. Apologies for the poor camera work!

I Phone photo lighting not so good. The Silvers recoil pad was polished by the rifle smith. The stock is actually not so shiny in the sunlight.

Try Sorbothane products. We used the inserts in the army to counter shin splints back in the day. Good product to cushion impact. I think they also make a heel pad. Were available in RSA, not sure if they still are.

Bayticol by Bayer works very well. I spray it on my pants legs,where my pants meet my boots and around my waistband. I’ve never found a tick on me even when my mates hunting with me found ticks on them. Its available at most pharmacies.

My Mod 70 375 sports a Khales Helga C 2.5-10x50 in EAW detachable mounts. I find it perfect for the bushveld where it does it’s hunting. The higher magnification works well for the occasional longer shots. I leave it on 6x for almost all other applications.

My boy Astro is an English Staffordshire Bull Terrier pictured with his Pit bull mate muffin. He’s genuinely the nicest best natured dog I have ever had. Loves people, animals and other dogs!

They are H&H type detachable side mounts. While they are quite high one can’t see the sights when the scope is mounted.

Great caliber! I have shot plenty of game with it . My latest loads have Woodleigh 196gr RNSP bullets going at 2550 fps. Performs fantastically in the bushveld. I only have about 60 rounds left and will probably start using Norma Oryx 200 gr points which I have bought if I can’t get Woodleigh’s.

300 H&H. Barnes 180gr TTSX will be perfect!
