    I will use my 223 for animals up to Blesbuck size, bigger than that, my 9.3x62. but yes there are better options available.

    Nothing wrong with a .223 for Impala, blesbuck and bushbuck size game. The 223 loaded with 62gr TSX or 60gr Nosler PT will drop them with ease. I know a guy who shot a hippo with a .243 and 100gr PMP Proamm ammo and the hippo dropped in its tracks

    This is a young female i shot at our farm in Limpopo province ( my wife posing in photo ). Used my 7x57 mauser with 175 gr Sierra game king bullet, distance about 40 yards in moonlight.
