I was recently diagnosed with esophageal cancer. I'm a competitive powerlifter and bodybuilder. I never had GERD or acid reflux. No less than 4 doctors misdiagnosed me, otherwise I would not be about to die. According to my oncologist, I have approximately 6 months to live. This has been a...
As promised earlier, my inventory of firearms in my armory:
Rifles
1. Nosler M48-outfitter-rifle 458 win mag 22 inch barrel ghost ring/fiber optic front sight 7 pounds
2. 416 Ruger Alaskan 20 inch barrel ghost ring/fiber optic front sight 7.75 pounds
3. 375 Ruger Alaskan 20 inch barrel ghost...
Find a guide who will allow you to bring your 45-70. Unfortunately, a lot of people who have never hunt or even shot the rifle make grave predictions of failure based upon some meaningless energy level numbers.
Go to Africa, take your 45-70 and prove them wrong.
Yes, I have five (5)...
I have the 375 Ruger Alaskan and the 416 Ruger Alaskan. Both are controlled round feed and both are very reliable and very powerful. These are my go to rifles for deadly and dangerous game. Hendershot’s can load up any ammo combination for both rifles.
It's a solid rifle. Browning is one of the few companies that manufacture quality firearms. Mine is the Stainless stalker chambered in 375 H&H. I had my gunsmith reduce the barrel length from 24 to 21 inches. I installed a rear XS ghost ring sight and a fiber optic front sight. This reduced...
I have 53 in my private armory. A healthy balance between long guns and handguns. Too many to list here but I am professionally employed as a Fraud Investigator and former law enforcement. I see no down side in listing your firearms in a semi-open forum. The feds know what you have and if...
I am a former competitive powerlifter and bodybuilder. Esophageal cancer hit me approximately three (3) months ago. I am 56 years old. I've been through chemotherapy and radiation, currently waiting for a major surgery that might extend my life 2, 5, or perhaps 10 years. I have less than a...
I have the Ruger Alaskan rifles in 375 and 416 Ruger. Both are lightweight hard hitting rifles. In Alaska or Africa I recommend the 416. It will lay waste to your game.
My hiking rifle is my Nosler M-48 outfitter chambered in 458 win mag. It weighs 7 lbs.
I hate lugging around heavyweight firearms. That's why I taught and disciplined myself over a period of six years to master my lightweight big bore handguns and rifles.
The heaviest big bore rifle I own is my 375 and 416 Ruger. Both tip the scales at 7.75 lbs. My Browning X-BOLT (375 h&h) weighs 6.5 and my Nosler m 48 Outfitter chambered in 458 win mag weighs 7 lbs.
If I were in your boots, I would take my 458.
I'm like you, I hate lugging around heavyweight...
I have the BLR takedown in 300 win mag with XS sights. I use a variety of premium hunting bullets, depending on the animal and terrain.
1. Buffalobore 200 grains TSX
2. Federal premium 180 trophy bonded
3. Hendershot’s 200 nosler partition
4. Hendershot’s 200 grain A-Frame
5. Hendershot’s...
