Tuffpak For Sale To Canadians Only

I've got a new (never used) Tuffpak with Tuffsak for sale. International shipping is ridiculous and cost prohibitive (shipping something this size to the states is over $400) so I will only sell to Canadians (and even that shipping ain't cheap). Brand new (with Tuffsak duffel included) they sell...

I Keep Finding Deals On Nice Scopes... Passing It On

Just had some bad experiences with a couple of used scopes many years ago. The reason I ask, I purchased a S&B from this seller a couple of months ago but haven't had the time to mount it on a 416 Rigby....just waiting on some QD Alaska Arms rings. (we may have been bidding against each other!)

    Pelican Case vs. Kalispell

I don't have a Kalispel; I've got a custom made case that I've had for about 30 years that looks just like it. Never had any problems with scopes being off zero. The case has taken a beating, but they are tough and fully protect what is inside. I'm sure Pelican is good too, but if you've already...

    Stupid should hurt

Being polite or blowing them a kiss has a much better effect. If you get angry or sarcastic, you are giving them the satisfaction of knowing they got to you. I've noticed they get more flustered and confused on what to do next when you respond in an unexpected way.

Would you use single shot for Dangerous Game?

Absolutely. I have hunted DG with a Ruger No. 1 in 375H&H and you definitely make sure your first shot is good. No issues from my perspective, and no concerns from any PHs that I have hunted with when I used this particular rifle, and I`ve never met a PH who is was afraid to voice his opinion.

No, sorry to say I did not. I was kind of expecting at least an acknowledgement from his office (I provided an email address), but no such luck. Hunting dangerous game on a first safari?

Unless you're a brand new hunter that hasn't made a kill, I can't see any rationale behind "not" hunting DG on a first safari. There has to be a "first time" for everything! Absolutely go for it.

    Need help with research...

I hunt because I'm a hunter: genetically predetermined. Example: if you have a house cat (they've been domesticated for a couple of thousand years); they do not need to hunt as they are fed, and housed; yet you put them outside, they will hunt rodents and birds because it is in their nature...

FNG going to Africa in June

I had a "starter wife" too, but didn't keep her that long. My "keeper wife" likes taxidermy more'n I do. She wants me to get everything mounted! (certainly can't afford that, let alone the space required; I mostly just keep the skulls now, and starting to throw away the old ones)

Recoil: what does it mean to you?

I'm having some trouble understanding why some shooters/hunters have an issue with recoil bothering their shoulders. This is a problem I've never experienced. I own or have handled calibers up to 500 NE and 3 1/2" 12 gauge magnums. My "go to" rifle is a .416 Rigby and I'll shoot 410 gr...

    Burkina Faso Hunt

I believe that the 1450 Euro for lion is strictly the trophy fee. I also think there is a very tight quota on lion there (maybe 2) so the all-in hunt will still run you from $32-35K US, which is still a very good price for wild lion. The quotas most likely are already spoken for for years; but...
