    Anybody with bad knees?

2 thoughts 1. It looks like Arizona has approved medical Marijuana. If you don't want to go that route, perhaps cbd would help. 2. Check with a pain management dr who specializes in restorative treatment instead of just painkillers. Dont ask a orthopedic- they are dicks who want to operate...

    Model 70 front sight ramps

So in a moment of sheer brilliance, I removed the front sight hood off my 375 Super Express without paying attention to if I needed to drive it up or down in the slot. I choose wrong and scratched the ramp all to hell. Being a perfectionist, I now have to replace it bc the touch up pen isn't...

    Would you like a Cigar?

Imo 90% of cigars get harsh just before the final 1/3. When starting out, I was reading about traditional cigar etiquette which is to only smoke 1/2 the cigar. The first 1/2 is the best and there gets a point where it goes downhill fast. So it's a question of whether you put it down before it...

How has Everyone’s Hunting Season at Home been?

With last weekend being windy, a downpour expected this weekend, and a 18 month old girl at home I decided I better shoot this guy tonight. 60 yards away shooting through multiple small holes. The 308win 165gr sst did it's job nicely.

    For you beer drinkers...

Ever since I brewed up an 18 month old girl, I haven't made any beer...and when you are pushing 40 its makes it that much worse. Hefe and Belgians are my favorite to make. Can't screw up 45% red wheat and 55% 2row or pilsner malt and cane sugar. I enjoy making wine more. Imo there is a lot...

    Drinking Water on Safari

For me, water is critical since I have bad disks in my neck and muscle disfunction in my shoulders. Have to stay well hydrated or else I get a terrible migraine that night. You don't want to scream yourself back to sleep when you are on vacation. :A Wacko:

A-Frame or Scirocco for mixed bag

Certainly no more of a problem than the cheap corelokt bullets the locals use. The scirocco, I believe, is slightly tougher than an accubond. You may not get complete penatration but it should hold together well. Accuracy wise, they can be finicky though. If you want 2 holes, the Aframes are...

A-Frame or Scirocco for mixed bag

Unless you are in Alaska or northern Canada, I would personally go with the Scirocco. Moose are big animals but are relatively easy to kill - lots fall to the 30-30 and 6.5mm swede.

Ok gotta ask what is it with hunting outfitters that have no prices on their website?

My personal policy is not to do business with companies who do not post prices. They say it to provide you with a personal quote. I believe it is a sales tactic to reel you in before hitting you with high prices. There are plenty good companies who post their prices. I do business with them

I agree. I would rather put together a "make your sampler" where you get to choose 10 singles from 50 choices. However if you don't like doing the legwork and reading reviews before buying, then a Club might be for you.

    Rebored rifle and travel

I am thinking about having JES rebore a 30-06 to 9.3x62. They will scratch out the 30-06 in some manner (not sure if they essentially erase it or draw a single line through it still being able to see the original) and stamp the new chambering. Is there a potential issue upon entering SA or...

    A New To Me Rifle

If you are just using it for general hunting and not DG, I do think a 8x scope would be helpful dialing in at 100 yards at the range. Depends how picky you are with groups and zeros. Beings you have a scope already, um not sure i would incur the extra expense and trouble though

Outfitters and PH's Please respond. All others: who does this...?

I get why there are rules against drinking during lunch at some establishments - its a big liability. Of course it doesn't hurt to ask the ph if an exception can be made as that rule may go away depending on the guests in camp - sort of like parks closing at dusk to keep the teenagers out but...

Found out yesterday my brother-in-law's dad just passed away from covid. He had a slight fever for a week, felt a little bit better & sang/danced around in his kitchen for a few minutes goofing off, passed out on the kitchen floor, and never regained consciousness. Needless to say I have an...

    Sierra Game King bullets

I have said it before but it bears repeating again since this is a dedicated thread... I have shot a number of thin skinned medium game with the 308 win 165gr. The bullets mushroom perfectly and retain virtually all their weight as I've found a few on the opposite hide, but the animals don't...

    Shooting accidents...

I used to frequent a public range that had a 200 yard line (one of the only in the state) separated from the rest of the range by a burm. I was the public unmanned range some years back and another guy arrived with a handgun and 30 pack of beer. In-between drinking beers, he would use the case a rest. Ashton Heritage puro sol Wish it wasn't so windy outside but there is a nice cool night... Pretty straight forward oak wood taste with a light-mid rye spice. Goes well with a wheat/rye whisky. Solid smoke, but I think Ashton Cabinet Select is more complex and quite a bit better.

Big Bore Rifles, How Much Do you Actually Shoot Them?

I am certainly in the minority. When starting out shooting as an adolescent, I needed a lot of practice over many years. Somewhere between 25-30 years of age I peaked. Marlin being sold to Ruger by Remington

Interesting. It will be interesting to see how they market the model 60 against the 10/22.
