I agree whole heartedly with you. I use bullets to suit the game. I’m about to reload my 300 Winchester using Hornady ELD match bullets (208grain) but certainly would not use such on game.
That’s just an example I might add.

I do long range target shooting but use entirely different bullets.
Use the appropriate bullet for the intended target.
Mind you I certainly wouldn’t use target bullets for hunting.

At what range as in distance does spin drift really start to affect the travel?

I think the 375 H&H is for big game like buffalo whereas the 338 is for large deer /antelope and big plains game.
I just had my 338 muzzle braked for long distance target shooting using 225 grain Speer bullets.
The 375 - I used 300 grain bullets - sold as I have a 416 using Woodleigh 400 grain...
