I used to think this way a bit as well, but have just accepted the fact if I am going to use it then it will likely get scratched and I have come to terms with that.

I promise you I won't store it on top of dead pigs, just for the photo haha

Ordered a Rigby Big Game DSB in 450

I am selling my current 450 SSB to help fund this one though I tried justifying keeping both 450's but even I couldn't convince myself of that haha

Ordered a Rigby Big Game DSB in 450

As most of you would already know, Rigby has only ever offered the 450 Rigby chambering in the SSB configuration in their Big Game model. They are now offering the 450 Rigby chambering in a DSB in the Big Game model range, don't think it's "officially" released yet and also not on their website...

Nice buff too! It definitely looks like the mounts in the top photo EAW? Sit lower than the hexalock mounts. I'm not sure I would have enough bolt clearance with those mounts?

Oh ok yep, as you can see how mines mounted I've got the scope mounted back in the rings pretty much as far as it can go and it's just ok for eye relief when wound up to 5 power. If you were to put a 3-9 on it the eye relief wouldn't be the best with those mounts. But that's for me, everyone is...

@WAB and @Red Leg are your Highland Stalkers glass bedded? That's something I forgot to add in here, mines glass bedded and I wasn't aware that was standard on the Highland Stalker.

As a few of you probably already know, I recently purchased a Rigby Highland Stalker in 9.3X62. Finally got my hands on it today, haven't had it on the range yet but so far super happy with it. I have noticed quite a few different threads on here where people are asking about scope mounts for...

Heym Express Rifle Lead Time Update

Yeah correct Martini Express. So the final decision I made is I would sell both my Kimber 458 Lott and my Rigby SSB 450 Rigby and buy a Heym in 450 Rigby. The Kimber is scoped and the Rigby is open sights only so I thought a Heym would be the way to go that way I can have the scope and open...

Heym Express Rifle Lead Time Update

I posted a thread a few months ago that I was going to purchase a Heym Express and was just trying to decide on which calibre to go with. I finally made my decision and when I went back to the Australian Importer of Heym last week to confirm pricing and lead time, I was quoted a lead time of 2...

    Woodleigh Bullets - re-opening ?

    2. Changes alot of peoples worlds, including mine. I can't understand the thinking that having one of the best bullet manufacturers in the world back up and running making softs doesn't change anyone's world. Also changes my bank account, Woodleighs are so reasonably priced compared to the...

    Woodleigh Bullets - re-opening ?

Softs that don’t matter because there are alternatives? Pretty confident in saying there is not another bullet manufacturer on the planet that makes the range of projectiles that Woodleigh makes for big bore and rare calibres. To say that Woodleigh softs not being available doesn’t matter...

    Rigby 450 Mopani rifle

Hey mate I nearly bought one recently, I was going to trade my Big Game 450 in on one but decided against it in the end. Specs are exactly the same as the SSB Big Game model they just have alot of upgrades. I think they made 12 of them, they all have some hand engraving, gold inlays etc. List...

Let's See Your Pig And Pig Gun

A few good boars all over the 100kg mark and all taken with my Kimber Caprivi in 458 Lott. Might sound like an excessive amount of gun for pig hunting but I often have to shoot through thick brush so it is perfect for that.

Chapuis Brousse 470 NE Double Rifle

Yeah ok fair enough, that doesn’t sound like it’s right then. Only think I can say is really push the issue with Benelli for answers ASAP which I’m sure you are already doing

Chapuis Brousse 470 NE Double Rifle

Mate as long as yours doesn't have the corrosion issues mine had I wouldn't be too concerned just yet. The tight action doesn't sound unusual to me, mine was extremely tight from new, which to be honest I would rather see that than it being loose, I'd be surprised if it doesn't free up nicely...

    Finally got a Highland Stalker!

Rifle turned up at my dealer today and Ok @WAB so maybe you were right, the wood is much nicer than I expected, I am super impressed with it. And as always with Rigby the fit and finish is absolutely perfect. Still waiting on my PTA, probably another week before I can take it from the dealer.

Yeah I’m now thinking I just except the fact that maybe I just order a double and if it takes 2 years then so be it. I’ve currently got the Rigby importer in Australia getting me a price on the new Rigby boxlock but I’m pretty sure it will come back at more than I want to spend so there is a...

So I'm guessing you take the plate out and then the long part without the screw holes slides over the rib? Hmmmm not even sure that would work? Yeah seems like a bit of an odd design. Yeah the screws in mine were really tight too, make sure you have a screwdriver that fits perfectly and then...

    Woodleigh Update

Yeah I have been looking at them, I just feel in general bonded lead soft points perform the best across a wide range of applications, not to mention they are also usually cheaper than monolithic bullets. Having said that Atomic 29 pricing looks similar to that of Woodleighs which is awesome to...
