Welcome to the forum Sue. I’ve listened to you on a few podcasts and loved hearing about your Africa experience’s. You can really feel your passion come through when you talk about Africa, you come off as very genuine and it was a pleasure listening to you.
Been riding bikes since I was 8. Started on a Honda xr80. Had a Harley for a few years but after a couple close calls on the road my wife convinced me to get rid of it. So I stick to the dirt now. Currently own a KTM 350 xcf which is fun as hell but if I’m being honest probably more bike than...
If you don’t want to upgrade in the future take a long look at HK. The build quality is excellent. The FN FNX 45 is one of my favorites. It’s the highest capacity 45 on the market holding 15 rounds. Throw a red dot on it and a stream light and I feel pretty safe in my house. CZ makes some nice...
I owned a bergara b14 hmr in 308 and it was an excellent rifle. You won’t notice the recoil and I thought it had a very nice trigger. The one downside is this model is a bit on the heavy side at nine in a half pounds. If you can swing a Sako S20 I would do it. That’s what I upgraded to and am...
I second Mdwest on the cheaper leupold scopes. They are solid glass for the price and have held up on my ar10’s which see more use than any of my other guns.
Wow, congrats on a great hunt and thanks for the detailed report. Can’t wait to go hunt with them next spring and see that beautiful country for myself.
Yea your right about Arkansas, went there for my honeymoon and it was a really cool place. While not as jaw dropping as the Rocky Mountains in Colorado I think I would prefer to live in the Ouachita mountains of Arkansas. Less of an extreme environment and just as beautiful. The Eminence Mo area...
Thanks for the recommendation, I’ve ordered the hardcover of that book but having the mini edition would probably be good idea too. Much easier to travel with I’m sure.
I bet man, having a decent amount of land is definitely a long term goal of mine. I hope you make that farm happen sooner rather than later so you can start enjoying it. At the rate land is going up we’re all going to need to be millionaires to own anything.
Yea there is a reason why I live out here in Troy Mo and just go to St Louis for work. Doug is right about the county though, it’s completely different than the city, although I still prefer to be out in the country.
The city of St Louis isn’t great but what big city is. While the city of St Louis is run by liberals and has parts that you wouldn’t want to go to, mainly north of highway 70, the surrounding counties and the state as a whole is very nice. You couldn’t pay me enough to live on the Illinois side...
Lol that does make the job sound better than just drywall taper. Yea I’m afraid of it being addictive or at least having to try and explain to my wife why I may need to make another trip.
Well to make it easier on me since I’ve never even been on a plane, I’m going to be renting a rifle from the outfitter. They’ve got 7mm mags so I’ve been practicing with my Sako s20 300 win mag off of sticks. I figured they should shoot similar. I love this gun and would like to take it but it...
How’s it going everybody? I’ve been researching on the forums for awhile now and figured I’d actually join up now that I’ve decided to go on a hunt to South Africa. I’ll be going with Game4Africa safaris for 8 full hunting days for plains game on the first week of May 2023 and I can’t wait. Wik...
