Hi all,
I recently bought a Dakota 76 in 375 Dakota. I saw Hendershot’s can load some ammo but wanted to check if anyone here was willing to sell me some brass or ammo? Thanks!
I definitely miss the early morning coffee and the conversation of the days hunt. I also like the gratitude of the people when you give them a animals carcass
GunBroker has a few zkk's floating around throughout the year for some of you guys here in the States. Its a really nice action so good luck to you all.
I think the best buffalo in the world is one with a helmet. The character those old bulls have is much more valuable than a 40+ inch bull. If you hunt them on 5000 acres or 50,000 acres it doesn't take anything away from the buffalo. The dagga boys in smaller fenced farms are much more wild and...
As everyone has said a 7x57 is the bread and butter of African Safaris. Good penetration, heavy bullets and a history behind the rifle and caliber is what makes it so grand. I have been shooting mostly PMP or Federal bullets with it 170g+ but have never had any problems with the 200+ animals...
If a farm is large enough to provide its own ecosystem I think it's fair chase. I would argue that personally I feel like 1200 acres should be the minimum for a farm containing a few different species. I have walked myself to death on 1200 acres before. Fair chase areas also has very few water...
My extractor had a slight bend in it like yours. Never became a problem or showed any sign of trouble. They are well built and can take some punch. Good luck.
Pack your 7x57. It's a favorite among us in Africa and ammo is available everywhere. It will put down everything you plan to hunt also. I have both a 375 H&H and 7x57 but personally think the H&H is too much gun for most plains game. Good luck and best of luck for your planning.
You will mostly be looking at guinea fowl and franklin. There are some lakes on that side of the mountain with some nice accomidations in the LT area. Good luck and hope you find what you are looking for.
Wanted to get some input from everyone who has bow hunted Africa before. I want to build 3 blinds on my farm and would appreciate any advice about what made a blind good or bad? I am leaning towards a ground blind(halfway into the ground). What diameter do you think would work, how many...
