Wanted Rem 7600 Long Action

The Whelens are a little pricey. This is the least expensive I found in a quick search.
Really silly on Gunjoker.

They made 7600 in 35 Whelen I bought and sold one a few months back. You might be able to buy one and just have it shortened to your preferred length
@Skinnersblade
You bought and sold a 35 Whelen.
I hope you didn't use the money to buy that pissant 243.
Mate you should have kept the Whelen if it was a good shooter. Please tell me you did shoot it.
I can see I need to get over there sooner rather than later and have a good father son talk to you mate.
I have to clean the coffee of my walls now after reading you bought and SOLD a 35 WHELEN. Grasshopper you need more education.

As Gomer Pyle says
Shame, shame, shame.
You should have given it a chance. I know you like pump guns and in 35 Whelen you can't go wrong.
Please tell me you made a profit on it.

Yes bob I made a profit. That’s the only reason to own one such a short time. I bought it with a sale all lined up for it and just had to deliver it to the new owners.

You should have tried it first but thn if you did you may not have sold it.

Would it be possible to just buy one in 30-06 and have it rechambered? Or rebarreled? .....just wondering if that may be an options.
$1750 seems a bit pricey to me for ANY Remington 7600.
@Mr. 16 gauge
If you want to go cheap get a 30-06 Savage 110 and get it rebored by JES or get a Shaw or Douglas profit barrel and screw it in. Cheap and accurate.
Bob

I'm from PA and I can confirm that everyone has one here. Some of the folks really like them, I'd look for one that was already a whelen though.
I'm also from PA and own one of these in 30-06. Now that I think of it, everyone I can think of that hunts also owns one. 99% of them are probably heirlooms.

I agree with others, find it in the caliber you want. Rebarrelling is going to cost as much as the rifle.

If you can’t find one here and want to avoid gunbroker. I’ll second/third what the other members here said about being extremely popular in Pennsylvania (at least with the 50+ age group). Do a google search using maps and make phone calls to those gun shops. Our deer rifle season ends Saturday, should be plenty on shelf and willing to make some deals. I’d gladly recommend some reputable shops in my area if you send me a PM.

I think semi auto was (still is?) verboten for deer hunting in Pennsylvania. I had some friends in college that were from that part of the world, they called those Remington pumps “Pennsylvania Machine Guns” or something ridiculous like that.
Everyone that I knew that owned one said basically the same thing: easy to carry, fun to shoot, quick follow up shot, accuracy was unimpressive.

Must be manually operated for deer/bear in Pennsylvania. Muzzle loader regulations are a pre-1800 design too. I honestly hope it doesn’t change. The ban on Sunday hunting is ridiculous though. They now approve a whole three Sundays for hunting as of a couple years ago.

Just about any shop you walk in to here in PA will have at least one 760 chambered in '06. I don't encounter 7600s nearly as often.

Grice Gun Shop in Clearfield, PA commissioned at least two runs of .35W 7600s. One was in the mid-2000s and another within the last few years. There may have been more but those are the two runs I recall.

I've never been a pump rifle fan but my brother had a 7600 .280 that he bought new in the late 80's. He sold it 20+ years ago for foolish reasons. Occasionally I'll remind him what they are bringing now to bust his balls... Even more $$$ than .35 Whelens.
