Hi everyone,

Yes, I am back from CAR, safe, in good shape, full of sotries and pictures.
Ok right, it was not so easy, you all know what is going on in the country, it was mentally hard for us but we all managed to have good hunts in safe conditions. Fortunately CAWA's area is far and remote with no access, we were quite safe and the hunters had good time.

Well, it was quite an unusual hunting season but we had some good hunts especially on bongo, we saw a lot of them....

Thanks Spike.t, yes this roan is big, in fact it is the biggest I have ever seen..... 33 1/2'' should be high in the top ten.

really enjoyed the write up you did for the wild deer magazine down here . pricked a few ears around the camp fire about these elusive bongo

Happy to hear you are all fine.
Some great animals in the pictures.
Specially the Bongo and Eland pictures make my pulse speed up :)

My biggest dream is to someday go and hunt those 2 with my bow.

Those are some great animals. I wish that I had the funds to go on a hunt for some of those animals. Good pics. Thanks for sharing. Fuels the dreams.. Bruce
 
Welcome back and glad to hear you are safe and sound. I was in Gemena (DRC) evacuating wounded RSA soldiers from CAR a couple of weeks ago. Kinda nice to see that the hunting is still going well there, hope things get better in CAR. Looking forward to the stories behind those photos!
 
Great pics and fascinating report. I'm back in 2014 for my eland and can't wait.
