South Africa Moves to Level 4 Restrictions - Effective June 28, 2021

This third wave is far worse it is almost unreal that me or my family hasn't been infected yet. (Thank the Lord!)
Lucky that I have not had anyone close to us pass away except for a friend beginning of the year.

Hospital beds are full non life saving operations all canceled.

Cigarettes are not banned this time round.

Schools closed 1 week earlier for holidays.

With all this going on if you get picked at the airport and keep common sense your hunt should go with no hassles. No sit down restaurants open and no sale of booze and most tourist destinations are closed.

So come hunt and concentrate on that alone.

For those that has booked extra side trips it might not be the best time and won't be what you expected.

Will hear on the 11th July if borders of Gauteng is opening or more lockdown regulations?

Sorry to hear IvW. My daughter now has it. Six in our company so far, but thank God all have recovered.

That is the one we took. We had no reaction to either shot. If you dig past all the "you are all going to die" vaccine nonsense swirling around the internet, both it an the Moderna product seem to be extremely effective against all the variants to date to include Delta.

Agreed, the data is overwhelmingly positive for the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines on all known variants to date. All of this concern over the speed of development is evidence of a lack of understanding of the impact and effectiveness of gene editing technologies. This is the new normal.

On a related note, tricking your body into thinking that it is under attack, and thus generating antibodies, is a much more elegant solution than actually putting your body under attack with a small dose of the disease in order to develop antibodies.

I am glad to hear that our African friends are beginning to get access to the vaccines. Distribution has been criminally slow in many countries.
 
Thank you Doug. It is very encouraging to see the UK easing up because the Delta variant, whilst very contagious is not nearly as lethal. We are hoping the same will be true here.

We will have to agree to disagree on that one. If we truly are going to draw our conclusions based on the "science", we actually have very little data to refer to because the technology is so new. Keep in mind that these are still "experimental" vaccines that have been approved for emergency use. So far, the effectiveness of the vaccines on the Covid virus is not the question. However, the true list of adverse affects along with long-term affects are very much unknown at this point. That is precisely why it is so important for each individual to do a personal risk/benefit analysis for themselves based on their own health history, chronic health issues, and comorbidities before getting vaccinated.

The majority of adverse effects stemming from these synthetic vaccines seems to derive from a hyper-reaction to these fake DNA markers that trigger the immune response. These hyper-reactions are responsible for clot formation, and the various joint and cardiac inflammation side-affects that have been observed with certain groups. Dismissing these as anecdotal is to do so at your own risk.. These hyper-reactions have also been evident in individuals who got vaccinated while still carrying natural antibodies from having recovered from the virus previously. Disregarding the body's own immunity capabilities is a mistake. The synthetic vaccines may indeed prove to be more efficacious than the traditional vaccines created by the actual dead virus, but to proclaim them as completely safe and the new normal is premature. Only time will tell.

My mother, my sister and myself got the Moderna shot and we all had a very sore upper arm after the first shot. Did you have that with the Pfizer?

You raise some valid points. Part of the business I led before retirement in 2019 was a research group involved in the development of biologically derived chemistries designed to drive a response in master regulator genes (transcription factors). The development times in this research have been cut by orders of magnitude with the advent of new gene editing technologies. Our knowledge of gene regulation and our development capabilities for chemistries targeting them are increasing at exponential rates. There will be no 100% safe solution, there never has been, but I strongly believe that triggering a defensive response without introducing a pathogen is a much faster and safer approach.

FYI while we are all different, I can relate this My buddy and I just returned from a hunt in Limpopo. We road in a car for 3 1/2hours with a SA friend who took us to our work site with rhinos.....followed 2 weeks later by a 1 week hunt. My driver friend went into respiratory distress and was confirmed to have covid the day after he dropped us off. We "quarantined "with staff and rhinos for two weeks then hunted 1 week. Everyone at the rhino project was on ivermectin. No one developed any covid symptoms.(8 of us). My buddy and I had been vaccinated X2 with Pfizer vaccine. Taking normal precautions, I am comfortable that the vaccines work (granted none are 100%) and will be returning in September to work with wildlife and hunt.

Virtually nothing with either and no flu like symptoms at all.
 
Unfortunately, I have had a daily headache. My wife nothing, my daughter who had Covid nothing either. I took the Pfizer.
