SOUTH AFRICA: Has Anyone Hunted With Kuche Safaris?

Thanks MB. I have been in contact with several members who have given me contact information for recommended outfitters. I will be doing my due diligence by contacting these companies, feeling them out, and then making the best decision for me. It does appear my “free” offer doesn’t add much and is not that great of a deal when compared to other pricing, etc.

Sounds like the company is reputable. Just because it is "free", doesn't mean you have to choose them though...

Koos is an awesome host an very reputable. I would not hesitate to go with him and his son. They are an absolute pleasure to deal with. One word of advice: ask for best pricing off of their sheet in advance. Once you agree, they will not be moved and the pricing will be hyper fair. Good luck.

Thank you for this info! I’m going to call Koos on Monday.

I have hunted with kuche and while it is my only experience in Africa, I will hunt with Koos again. (pronounced kwis) lol
Kuche is a great outfit and my brother and I had an incredible experience! My brother @Jeffrey Masters as well as @MAdcox I know have hunted with Kuche and I
think there are a few others. Agree with everything said previously but highly recommend kuche! you are welcome to pm me and I will gladly talk to you on the phone if
you have any questions I could answer.

Hi Kevin,

Thanks for the reply and your testimonial for Kuche.

How many other hunters were in camp with you?

That’s a really nice Kudu!!!

The most hunters in camp while we were there was seven. Koos has thousands of acres leased. we covered a lot of ground in seven days and I never
saw the same piece of ground. camp was friendly and enjoyable. drinking a beer around a fire at night in Africa is a great way to wind down after a long
day hunting. Lodging was very nice and comfortable. I am planning on taking my wife back soon. The food was incredible! Not trying to sound like a commercial
but I cant say enough about Koos and his entire team! I have a hunt report on here but I don't know how to tell you how to find it.
like I said pm me if you have any specific questions.

Andrew, as my brother mentioned above, he and I hunted with Kuche a couple of years ago. We decided o Koos after meeting him in Harrisburg. No nonsense, no pressure, just fair pricing, honest expectations, and the promise that we would have a great time. Camp was clean and well kept. All the guides, trackers, and staff were above friendly, and ot in a superficial, I just want your tip kind of way.The food was truly over the top! The chef, "Never" was a master in the kitchen. Plenty of beer, wine, and cocktails, and friendly family conversation, because his family are all a part of the operation. The animals were all good quality, and numerous. Pricing was fair for substituted animals. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Kuche to any hunter, novice or veteran. I was always advised to talk to someone who did not get the animals wanted, or failed to harvest a prized animal. That would be me. While I took plenty of animals, the Kudu eluded me, and I still had an incredible time!! I will return to Africa, and I will most likely hut with Kuche. PM me with any questions, or call me, either one. I'll be happy to expound o what I have outlined here. Good luck!

Jeffrey,

Thanks for the review. Im glad you had a great time and enjoyed your Safari!!! I have emailed Koos and we will see where it goes. I’d like to utilize the certificate but that will be decided later on.

Thanks!

Great write up! Awesome animals as well!!! I’m glad everything worked out for you and you enjoyed your trip. I’m taking my wife with me as you did.

Did she enjoy her time in camp? What other activities were available for her if she did not hunt?

She hunted every day right along side of me so she didn't have any time to sit and relax by herself. there was a number of wives in camp most from what I had seen were enjoying the time to read and relax. they may have went into town a couple times but not 100% on that.

That’s awesome that she hunted with you everyday. Thanks for the info. Koos, and I are exchanging email now so more to come.

Was Koos prompt in returning email?
He has sent one email over a course of 1 week and it was quite vague. I did not get the same “I want you to hunt with me” vibe as I did other outfitters.

As with most communication in and out of Africa its slow!! If Koos has not gotten back to you or has not been extremely excited in email its because like most of us our world has been completely turned upside down and beaten with a hammer. He turned what could have been a nightmare into the most incredible trip that I will be able to relive forever!!

I agree that current times are trying. I have no doubt that you had a great time and Koos was a great house!
With RSA being closed I really thought communication would be better.... like I said, other outfitters were very prompt and are almost wooing me to hunt with them.

I have hunted with Kuche and enjoyed my safari with the ol lady. Family run operation and super easy to work with. I dont think Koos is one to sit around near the computer all day and he can be a bit slow on the reply. He did call me several times to hash everything out, so give him your phone number and answer any strange number that calls!

Mr. Short-I was looking at a rifle today on gunbroker and I found what I was looking for and What Do You Know!? -It comes with a free safari. I was already going to buy the rifle so free days and animals in Africa is just a bonus and obviously would add days and animals. Figured I would do some research and AH is a great place to do research and here we are! Ive got a hunt booked for 2022 so would book a year or two after that and would contact them and see if I could do a bowhunt and take the package animals and a couple of whatever else wanders in. Free days and free animals just because I bought myself a rifle I really wanted-I think its a great deal and smart marketing!

Yes sir! Very nice treat for sure!
