Politics

Having seen the video, it would certainly be difficult for Trump to miss, and Tim Scott was not the first person to call for its removal. The delay in removal and the lack of condemnation of the "white power" slogan by one of his supporters speaks volumes to me. I do not expect that Trump is personally responsible for every bit of media posted to his official accounts. However, I would not be so upset if he had just offered a swift and strong rebuke of the message.
I’ve heard Trump condemn racism several times. I don’t think he is racist. He may not be PC, but he is not racist?

What are your thoughts on the nation of Israel?

I would not go so far as to say that Trump is a racist, but I do think that he has a nasty habit of tolerating racist elements within his base.

If you cannot tell by my name, I am Jewish...I STRONGLY support Trump's actions on Israel.

I can tell by your name, and that is why I asked. Do you feel that the Israelis treated the Palestinians appropriately since the inception of Israel?

Absolutely. I would argue that Israel has been more than generous with the Palestinians, even after their repeated attacks on the Jewish people. Unfortunately, the Palestinians have rebuffed every attempt at peace, making it clear that they will not stop their campaign of terror until the Jewish people are destroyed.

I really don’t know what to think about the whole situation. I can see both sides. I think the land was wrongly taken from the Palestinians, but they are unwilling to move forward with peace. I hope that situation does have a peaceful outcome.

The Israeli land was won fair and square. The Palestinians, with support of Muslim neighbors continue to oppose anything Jewish. they have made clear that they have no interest in peace. Theirs is a religious campaign against the Jewish people.

The land was given to them by Lord Balfour after the Second World War. The Palestinians had nothing to do with that war. How is it fair to take their land and give it away?

Would you agree that the winner of a war gets to decide to do what they wish with the land of the loser or does that land have to be returned?

I would agree. I just don’t understand why the Palestinians were targeted.

I think as a whole the Israelis are good people. Israel is our best ally. I wish them well. I hope that both sides of that conflict have favorable outcomes.

Because the Jewish people had occupied that land until they were driven out by the Muslims.

Back on task.

Here's a good question

"I just watched the Democratic leaders of Congress kneel in the halls of Congress for about 9 minutes, for the death of a black man named George Floyd.

I have never seen them kneel for a fallen Police Officer.

I have never seen them kneel for a fallen Soldier.

I NEVER SAW THEM KNEEL FOR THE SOLDIERS THAT HILLARY AND OBAMA LEFT TO DIE IN Benghazi!!

I have never seen them kneel for the thousands of (black and white) babies aborted EVERY DAY.

I have never seen them kneel for a murdered white man or woman.

I have not seen them kneel for the thousands of black-on-black murder victims.

I have not seen them kneel for the thousands of elderly people that died in nursing homes due to the Corona Virus.

I have to ask: WHY are Democrats putting the life of George Floyd as more valuable than the lives of everyone else?

In fact, Democrats have put so much value on the life of George Floyd, they have allowed rioting, looting, arson, murder and mayhem in communities Nationwide...

ASK YOURSELF - WHY NOW?"

I assume you realize it was a tad more complicated than that. (n)

But I will agree that human history awards what a people can conquer and hold. For instance, I prefer living in Texas rather than a Comanche.

I spent much of my professional career mucking around the Middle East. I have spent lots of time with the IDF and have even flown in the gunner's seat of one of their Apaches as they demonstrated drone targeting hand-off just before the second Gulf War (a technique we have exploited extensively over the last decade and a bit). I have negotiated military sales with them (not easy), and as a General officer, I had the privilege to represent the US Army in laying a wreath at Yad Vashem. But, I am also an Arab speaker and have spent even more time among our Arab allies (and yes they are). Saudi Arabia, Jordan, and Qatar have been instrumental in all of our military and intelligence work in the region for fifty years - particularly the last twenty. Israel somewhat less so - I have a colleague, who I'll leave nameless, who describes our relationship as one of a whale being led around by a goldfish.

Every administration since WWII has struggled to balance those implacable foes as the US navigates its own national interests in the region. To date, that has not become any simpler.

My concern for Israel specifically is that it resembles very closely the Latin Kingdom of Jerusalem (1099-1187/1291). Yes the religion is different, but like it, the modern state of Israel is a largely European enclave on the coast of the Levant. They will maintain that toehold only so long as they have the military strength to do so. I am afraid there is a population calculus at work that makes that likelihood more difficult every generation. A lasting political solution is as imperative as it is illusive - perhaps impossible.

With respect to Chicago (and Baltimore, and Oakland, and DC, etc) - parts of it are, by any definition, a war zone - regardless of the percentage of the city. What frustrates me and many others is that BLM and its Democrat political enablers ignore that carnage as they purse political goals by exploiting correspondingly rare police shootings. The conditions that breed that violence are the product of decades of good intentions, bad policy, and misguided investment. Nothing in the current wave of empathetic demonstrations are assaults on our history will do anything to address that underlying barbarism. And until we, and perhaps most importantly, the people living there begin to, none of this will matter a few years from now.

It is all to disrupt the upcoming election.

The whole country of Jordan was to be for the Palestinians, too. Jordan refused to incorporate them. Israel is tiny. The Muslims want to annihilate it. Don't take the side of the Muslim bullies/conquerors/slavers/perpetrators of forced conversions/mistreaters of Dhimmi status citizens. Take up for democratic, CIVILIZED Israel

Not just Jordan, but ALL the Arab countries refused them. I understand that the "Palestinians" in Israel consider themselves as Arabs not Palestinians. (Also, Muslim does not necessarily mean Arab, and Arab does not necessarily mean Muslim)

Yes, obviously it is a long and complex history. That does not mean I will ever side with the muslims against my people.

The democrats have let the progressive wing of the party be infiltrated by antisemites. When the republicans tolerated the presence of far right antisemites within their ranks, they lost Jewish support. Now, the shoe is on the other foot. If the far left had captured the nomination, I would be voting for Trump without a second thought.

With regard to Chicago, you are entirely correct. As I said before, 99% of the city is completely safe. Democratic leadership in Chicago has concentrated the violence to a select few neighborhoods, isolated from the rest of the population. All of the cities resources goes to maintaining the "nice" parts of the city. Not only is this a failure of governance, it is a failure of morality.
