How much more difficult or longer is it to get to Namibia from the USA than the EC of South Africa?

KLM through Amsterdam, layover, then straight to Windhoek. Made for a simple trip with simple paperwork.

Unfortunately our plans for 2020 in Namibia have gone down the tube. Looking at 2021 April-May is my preferred time to hunt. Ive been watching Ethiopian Airlines flight schedule and Qatar schedules also. Usually in Addis Ababa 2 hours is sufficient time to shuffle through the airport for the connection.
Do they deliberately plan your connecting flight to depart from a gate at the faaar end of the airport ? This is not just a jibe at Ethiopian or Addis Ababa airport !
My question to those of you with more experience of Doha than I is a 2 hour connection time enough transiting with firearms ? Is there any big deal of checking serial numbers, licences etc etc ?
Thanks in advance for any meaningful contributions.

Pretty much the same travel wise. The gun permit is the easiest anywhere. Namibia is a great place to visit and hunt. I’ve been there so many times it’s like a second home to me with great friends all over.
We hunted with ARU Safaris last year again and it was such a neat experience.

You will love Namibia Day and night difference in SA. Travel is longer but well worth it. I flew Ethiopian on my last trip no issue at all with my bow case. Qatar I have heard is one mighty fine airline

Check the routes through Frankfurt. Went that way both trips and could not have been easier. For a PG hunt, I personally much prefer Namibia. Particularly the low fence cattle region.
