If you want to curtail government over reach in the country all that needs to be done are three things: 1. Require a balanced federal budget with very few and explicitly defined reasons for short-term overages; 2. Initiate a program where $1,000 is paid to each citizen over the age of 18 and even proration for age 0 -17. Once this is in place all other entitlement programs and subsidies (excluding those programs where the govt has collected payments such as title 1 social security) are eliminated. & 3. Maximum tenure in any elected office is two terms, with mandatory retirement for appointed positions of age 70.

If these three were implemented a considerable portion of the unintended consequences would be eliminated.

I would prefer a flat negative income tax to a UBI.

The negative income tax is what a properly operated UBI would become. For example: Everyone gets $1,000; everyone pays 20% of their income, keeps 80%. Those that make over $5,000 per month are actually paying, those that get less are still a positive on the benefit- however, there is no disincentive for earning wages as there is with the present system of cutting benefits due to earnings.

By labeling ANTIFA as a terrorist organization, Trump may actually be opening those business up to receiving money from the Federal Government like happened on 9/11. I could be wrong but after 9/11, I think victims families from the Oklahoma City bombing were compensated. There is at least predicate with the 9/11 victims families.

Regarding ANTIFA being labeled a terrorist organization. The following point is probably the most important, as pointed out by Brian Cates. The Federal government needs permission/request from mayors or governors to enter their jurisdiction to deal with rioting. The Federal government doesn't need anyone's permission to enter a jurisdiction to deal with terrorists. Trump just gave Barr and Federal teams a key to go anywhere in America.

Scenario: Antifa fascists arrive in smalltown USA and start their riot and property damage agenda. The Antifa fascists anticipate a repeat of previous destruction because the police department has been disbanded however the insurrection is quickly ended. Score: townspeople 1 fascists 0.

I would like it so we do set an income level that will be considered the universal basic income. For this example, the basic income is $40k. Then we set a flat income tax, say 25%. You take your income, subtract the basic income, and then you owe 25% of that. So if you earned $40k, you would owe nothing. If you earned nothing, you would get $10k. If you earned $120k, you would owe $20k.

I live in a metropolitan area of 1.4 million people. We had about 1,000 individuals on Sunday that marched and protested the death of George Floyd. Sunday night a handful of buildings got tagged and a couple windows in businesses were broken. Last night I doubt there were 50 protesting. This has become a world wide media event. Just realize that for most American's it is a nonevent.

Regarding ANTIFA. The following is a photo showing pallets of bricks that have been left for rioters. ANTIFA is driving this problems. Trump has said that America will deal with ANTIFA. If you pay much attention to Trump, when he says something will happen, it generally means it has already happened or is happening. After ANTIFA had their coming out party in Charlottesville, plus ongoing problems in Portland, Seattle and Berkeley, it wouldn't be surprising if ANTIFA has been physically and electronically infiltrated by law enforcement. Especially federal LE.

Rest assured this will not be like Ferguson or Baltimore under Obama. Under the American constitution and law, this is a state and local problem. Trump gave the mayors and governors the opportunity to deal with things first. IMO, after next weekend, expect things to get back close to normal.

If Dr. Fauci is correct about the Wuhan Virus, expect to see a major viral breakout among Democrats in the next couple weeks.

If you get a chance look up the antifa protest in Yucaipa, CA. They got their stupid asses beat to a pulp and run out of town.

I don't know if anyone pays attention to yahoo or the comments of the articles but it seems that yahoo is picking and choosing which articles they are allowing comments on and are getting heavier handed than usual in deleting things they don't like. The heavy race baiting articles are increasingly comment free. This started in the last few days with others saying the same thing. They don't like the majority of the comments and thimbs up or down going against them, people stating facts or saying "all lives matter". It seems the right may have found their new rallying cry.
