It is probably worth noting that small/medium town America which is spread across fly-over country is generally having lovely weather and enjoying the newly relaxed restrictions (finally) on daily life. The lovely Mrs. Red Leg and I resumed our afternoon dinner at our favorite Sunday restaurant. No one is rioting and no one is threatened in their homes - of course we are all armed to the teeth - not because anyone is afraid - but because it is sensible. Few are glued to their TV's and likely none to CNN or PBS.

For those not in America or who don't know American geography very well, most of the rioting, arson and looting is taking place in cities that have been under Democratic politicians for generations. Those politicians are letting this happen.

I live in a metropolitan area of 1.4 million people. We had about 1,000 individuals on Sunday that marched and protested the death of George Floyd. Sunday night a handful of buildings got tagged and a couple windows in businesses were broken. Last night I doubt there were 50 protesting. This has become a world wide media event. Just realize that for most American's it is a nonevent.

Regarding ANTIFA. The following is a photo showing pallets of bricks that have been left for rioters. ANTIFA is driving this problems. Trump has said that America will deal with ANTIFA. If you pay much attention to Trump, when he says something will happen, it generally means it has already happened or is happening. After ANTIFA had their coming out party in Charlottesville, plus ongoing problems in Portland, Seattle and Berkeley, it wouldn't be surprising if ANTIFA has been physically and electronically infiltrated by law enforcement. Especially federal LE.

Rest assured this will not be like Ferguson or Baltimore under Obama. Under the American constitution and law, this is a state and local problem. Trump gave the mayors and governors the opportunity to deal with things first. IMO, after next weekend, expect things to get back close to normal.

If Dr. Fauci is correct about the Wuhan Virus, expect to see a major viral breakout among Democrats in the next couple weeks.

Disregarding CNN and MSNBC, 2 names in news much-derided around here, television news has 2 big things going against it.

1. It works towards appealing to an audience. This is why focus groups and the like are a thing.

2. It has to find ways to keep views up.

This is ok for something like Breaking Bad or Spongebob but when people just want real information, they get this and end up being brainwashed into dogmatic husks.

People leave those bricks there on purpose because they know damn well that the temptation is there by those with angry hearts to let one fly like they're in a little league. I also wouldn't be surprised if officers put those down as bait to catch people because when the fish is hooked, it ain't got no one to blame but itself. The moral, don't be a fish.

I'm fairly familiar with several translations and paraphrases, King James, Living, Phillips, Revised Standard, Jerusalem and even New Jerusalem - but no Damned. Is it available in the store- possibly one operated by Bolsheviks?

We need to leave pallets of ammo out for the good ol' boys.

Yea there are a lot of bibles out there. God knows which one he has and God knows how much he read of it (pun intended). Also, a question I often ask myself is how skewed has our modern Bible become after thousands of years of constant translation and writing. We have holes left in our understanding of events only a few decades old.

And on an unrelated note, I find Trump to be the owner of an insufferable ego. I'll leave it at that.

The left's actions of the past week have done more for the Second Amendment than the NRA has done in the past five years. Especially when the Democratic Presidential candidates were saying things like this.

Well given how everything has been going to hell, even resurrecting the RoofKoreans, ofc people want to defend themselves. Besides, it's not so much "the left" as it is the Dem politicians. Besides, I'm more than sure that Reps would happily enact gun control if it meant they'd get more votes.

A Liberal journalist that doesn't think the military should be used to protect our citizens and property? What a shocker!

You mean a conservative journalist who does not believe that military personnel are the proper group to handle riots and are more likely to be made targets and inflame the situation. Glad you read closely and are so gung-ho for military engagement against citizens on U.S. soil. Go ahead, keep giving the federal government more and more power.

Engagement against thugs and vermin. The military is welcome to protect my community anytime. I'll help

a question, how would you resolve the problem of looting and burning cities by "protesters"?

i heard that 50 secret service members were injured the other day. i also read many police and civilians have been injured (I'm sure some will die) all to protest what exactly? sure a cop did a lousy job, hold him accountable and move on. this "global" protest serves nobody well, especially those that are having their livelihoods burned or destroyed.

so, how would you fix the problem, now that is has momentum?

My observation is that modest unassuming people don't tend to run for mayor much less the presidency.
