Gentlemen,
A really good friend of mine passed away last year and his lovely wife Joan has placed a bunch of his firearms collection in a auction. I have no affiliation with the auction house but would like to see Hop’s guns bring a good price and not go into the abyss. Stay away from the XP-100 is 17 Rem though you bunch of gun whores! I want her to reside in my humble abode! LOL.
Hoppy was a true man of action and spoke out for us hunters and gun owners. He did many things to help Iowa hunters and gun owners, especially the veterans and handicapped hunters. He was a man among men and there will never be another like him! Bid them up my friends!

Cheers,
Cody

damn you Cody!!!!!!!

I was supposed to be saving money for an Alaska hunt later this year...

There are some great guns at some really good prices up for grabs though.. I cant resist...

:)

Thanks for posting Cody. Got my eye on a couple items ;) None of which have “XP” in the description! :D
There are some traps there I would love to have! Except for the fact that they may go for more than alot of the guns! Some great collector stuff there.

Hop was truly one of the best guys I’ve ever known. Unfortunately as we get older we get the misfortune of dealing with our friends leaving us and makes us wonder what will happen to all the things that we cherish in life. Myself I’m just gonna keep buying 500 grain bullets to make the kids really miss me as they move it out of my house! Lol.
Thanks for looking guys!

Was everything being auctioned his or is this a combined auction?

Combined, the description says which estate/collection the items are from. He was a serious varmint hunter and an exceptional marksman! He was definitely a go to for any reloading questions

Toys! Toys! Toys!

Your friend had more guns than I own bullets.

This was far from what he had, he made me feel like a rookie gun guy too! He loved his Ruger No. 1’s. I’ve got a few of his guns that will always bring great memories each time I rack a bolt on one of them!

thanks for looking guys!

I'll admit the #1s have my attention.

Well I got 3 :)

Of his, plus a couple others and some ammo, etc;)

Thanks Cody(y)

Seemed like the prices were decent for an internet auction. Guns always sell better when gun nuts get to fondle them prior to the sale.

Sorry for your loss. Always tough losing friends.

Awfully good of you to pump up the auction for his wife. My better half will be lost trying to get rid of my stuff.

Now if I can transfer some of this collection to mine...

Cody,
Please tell Joan the 24x Tasco 709 target scope went to a good home. I have been looking for a vintage target scope for my pre'64 model 70 target in .243 Win. These scopes are quite scarce and super cool!!

Thanks for the heads up.

Yes they are a very cool scope and usually passes over by everyone that has never been behind one. I messed up and missed out on the unertels! My luck sux when it comes to acquiring them! Hope you enjoy the tasco, he had it on one of the no.1 varmint guns and I can only guess at the number of small furry creatures that have exploded in those X-hairs

Thank You, I will do my best to add to those numbers. Your luck is like mine with the Unertles. I wanted the BV20 but it went for more than what I felt comfortable spending right now, furloughed since March 20th.
