Bid on and won a hunt for plains game in late 2000. I was to use it on my birthday 2001. Unfortunately, my birthday is 15 September. Never got another chance to try to consummate the hunt.

Welcome to AH Ricardo Alvillar! Glad you found us and enjoy exploring the site. Never too late to make it to Africa!

Giday Ricardo and welcome to the A H forums

Welcome aboard! Hope you can get to Africa!

Welcome to our forum. Hopefully you will make it to Africa once this virus has passed.

Hi Ricardo,
Welcome to AH.
Philip

Welcome aboard Ricardo. Are you considering an African hunt? Most of the hunts "won" at various auctions etc. are not worth a heck of a lot. They are just gimmicks to get you there. The outfitter and or PH will then do their best to get you to shoot additional animals at outrageous prices to make up the difference. This year's season may be out of the question but hopefully things will open up for next year. In the meantime feel free to join in the discussions and questions AH members are currently posting.

Welcome to AH Ricardo. Sorry to hear about your “timing” in ‘01. Don’t give up on Africa. If you want it.... go get it!

Ricardo, welcome to the AH forum! If you stick around here for long, you’ll catch the Africa virus and get yourself there!

Welcome Don't give up. You can get there if you try. My wife bid on and "won" a hunt in RSA at a Wild Turkey Federation fund raising dinner. It was a great trip and I did add on a few extra animals but did my research to determine "going rate" in RSA before I left for the trip. I found that the outfitter was charging very fair prices for my extra animals. I have hunted with Sun Africa Safaris three times since then and I am going to hunt with them in Zim for buff and PG in 2021. Not all of these hunts are as scam.

i decided i wanted to hunt africa after retirement and made my first trip at just short of 70 in 2013 and made my sixth hunting trip last may, just short of my 76 th birthday. i say go and fall in love with africa. when i,m in a rest home or worse i will have all the hunting trips i ever took to remember and look back on. anyway, a hundred from now no one will remember or care what i did.

Hello Ricardo Alvillar,

Khomas Highland Hunting Safaris of Namibia, welcomes you to the greatest forum on earth.

Best regards,
Paul.

G’day from Australia. I went early this year in off season. I had a cull hunt
I would say work out you actually want and when the ask for a quote on a package. Put it out there and see who comes to you with an offer.
There are some good offers come up and you might see one that suits.
