South African Airways has cancelled all routes until 31st of May due to the Corona virus situation.

The president in South Africa has also announced a 3 week lockdown of the country, which means that people will not be allowed to leave their homes except to buy food, medical supplies, collect social grants or seek medical attention. All shops and businesses will be closed, except for pharmacies, supermarkets, petrol stations and health care providers as well as laboratories, banks and other essential financial services. The lockdown will so far last until at least the 16th of April.

I hope for the sake of outfitters and farmers, that clients will not cancel, but merely postpone their trips, if they are affected by this situation.

Let's hope this crisis is over soon.

There won’t be 100% refunds if hunters cancel. Outfitters have weekly business expenses and they have personal expenses like everyone. Some of your deposits are already spent. That’s how businesses operate - all businesses. If hunters can reschedule, that is the only feasible solution.

That is my view also.

I have money down for three hunts, including a substantial amount for one. I am currently retrieving what I can from airfares, and at this stage am down a few hundred dollars on the fares, but have a pending refund on one and a useable (hopefully) credit on another. I will look at possible insurance claims when the refund is finalized.

I have not asked any outfitter for a refund. Hopefully something can be worked out down the track in the way of replacement hunts. If that becomes impossible, we are all going to be in far more trouble than the cost of a hunt, and I'll deal with that when and if I have to.

There is so much pressure on everybody now that adding more and squealing about our rights won't help anyone and is unlikely to be successful.

This is what we were told would happen in the US buy everyone around the world but one person. We only have one place that has blown up and we are leading the world. What do you think will happen if we go back to business as usual instead of trying to hold it down?
We will make it look like we had no clue.

Out of all this isolation and social distancing ballyhoo there has not been one mention of the dirtiest and most pervasive transmitter on the planet---MONEY. Every soul touches, handles and comes in contact with it constantly. Granted, the incubation period may not be very long but the chance is still there. Soooo, how do we handle that situation? Wipe down every bill and coin before we touch it? Use tweezers, gloves, or maybe we stop using it? May sound silly but no more so than some of the other schemes out there. Just something to think about.

There have been reports of business refusing the coin of the realm and only taking plastic.

I have read a couple of them but couldn't tell you just where they were.

A lot of places north of the 49th also refused cash.

Plastic.
For every day use, I hate plastic and determinedly avoid using it, BUT for the last two to three weeks, for the reasons you have listed, I have used nothing else.

I knew they should of made Tim Cook live in Chinna.

The United States now has more Covid-19 cases than any other country with over 82,400, according to Johns Hopkins University.

Congratulations America!

What we are being advised to do here in Ireland is use contactless payments wherever possible. Staff in shops are, where possible, behind screens and all wear disposable gloves. 2 metre gaps, 2 yards for some, between customers. Numbers limited in stores, you phone in or email your prescription to the pharmacy. Join the orderly loooong line waiting outside and your prescription is delivered outside for you to collect.
Minimum human contact. 2 weeks ago all this felt very weird. It’s strange how quickly one adapts.
Sadly there is always some idiots who can’t follow best practices, kids mainly, they have no sense of mortality and to a great extent act accordingly. Our Taoiseach, that’s Irish for Prime Minister is a doctor (of medicine) by training and a biochemist. He probably has some inkling of what should be done unlike other leaders of the western world.

Must be wonderful for you that the Governor and Mayor of New York, both of whom as late as March 2d were urging citizens to live "normal" lives, bear no responsibility for the lack of preparedness of New York, city or state. Chicago is exactly the same. Last I looked we were a republic with vast responsibilities for public health vested in local and state government - governments that at the time were far more concerned about political correctness than mitigating an epidemic. With a lack of an objective, critical media it is hardly surprising that so many of our citizens are equally incapable of non-critical analysis. But I do hope all this works out for you personally, and that you are not in an area dependent upon the de Blasio's of this world.

The mayor of New York was encouraging people to out and party 3 weeks ago—when ten Italian municipalities were already on lock-down from Coronavirus https://twitter.com/BilldeBlasio/status/1234648718714036229 …

Since I’m encouraging New Yorkers to go on with your lives + get out on the town despite Coronavirus, I thought I would offer some suggestions. Here’s the first: thru Thurs 3/5 go see “The Traitor” @FilmLinc. If “The Wire” was a true story + set in Italy, it would be this film.

I seriously hope the United States can get UNITED and deal with this bloody virus (pandemic).

It is sad/scary/distressing to watch the cases and the risks just continue to increase. I have too many friends across the USA that I have to worry about as I watch this.

This virus needs to be addressed by a concerted effort by ALL the people.

Please, Stay Healthy, Stay Safe and get the #$%^&* job done.
