So the COVID-19 has us all at home and not doing what we are passionate about or chasing our dreams. And I'm tired of the doom and gloom available everywhere so I am starting this thread so we can all say thanks to the unsung heroes, people we are especially thankful for at this time-
I'll just list a couple so I can hear more from you all. The lady at the Costco yesterday trying to maintain order as she limited the numbers of people who could enter the store and reassure those still in line that there would be bread, milk and TP for everyone. And while I'm on costco, how about those who are delivering the goods to those stores, unloading the trucks, and stocking the shelves. Calm and pleasant but ruthlessly efficient men and women at the registers.
The girl at the drive-thru at the pharmacy where I get my meds-big smile and happy and helpful and remembered my name without looking at the bottle. Small town but she was still nice to deal with.
Thanks to all the warehouse workers, truck drivers and small town pharm techs-Good dealing with you all!

Last night my wife and I spent about 6 hours in the ER. She developed a fever out of the blue, and decided to take her in. She doesn't have the flu, but as a precaution she was tested for COVID-19. The ER staff was simply amazing and professional with the service they provided last night. Not knowing if we do have been infected or not, they came (with all precautions), and made sure my wife was as comfortable as she could be in the ER. Amazing professionals!!!

Sorry, didn't mean to drag my issues into this post, but I wanted to give a little background. Thanks!

This Dr.
That gave his life trying to help to stop Covid-19 before it was ever Covid-19.

My wife had us and each of our four kids write something we were thankful for on colored pieces of paper-since we were more or less stuck at home. We will add to them each day till this is over. It was funteresting to see all their thoughts-

I self checked out of the Safeway store yesterday. As I left the 5-6 other people checking out, I told the one worker thanks for being there and all those checking out to be safe and have a great day. Almost in unison they all said thank you. Made me feel good.

I proceeded past the Starbucks coffee area and a nurse waiting there said she was amazed at the reaction! I added to her conversation, thanks for taking care of others. She had a bit of a blush and a big smile! That too made me feel good.

My daughter suffers from pain strikes caused by trigeminal and occipital neuralgias. It is brutal to see. Every couple of weeks she is in so much pain we take her to the ER. Sometimes at 1:00 or 2:00 in the morning. The nurses and one doctor often recognize her and are always empathetic. I’m thankful for them showing her kindness during all her pain.

The ladies in the Walmart self check line are always very sweet to help anyone needing it.

Everyone I have dealt with in our local Ace Hardware are always nice and seem to know every item and it’s location memorized.

The checkout lady at Walgreens is never too busy to give us a smile and help us find what ever we are looking for.

I feel fortunate that there are so many people I enteract with that are always nice no matter what kind of day they are having.

Sorry that you're having to go through all of this and hope the test will come back negative. Wish you the best and please keep us posted.

When you take a moment to think about all the good others do for us we are truly blessed to live in the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. I try to thank the employees of stores I frequent for their help and wish them a good day. My RAKs ( Random Acts of Kindness ) for the day.

This AM, I was at the supermarket. There were two firefighters buying groceries for the station. I thanked them for what they do (I always do when encountering any first responders or military.).
Also thanked the checkout woman and the bagger and told them to be safe and healthy.

I got the following messages this evening in a conversation with an intensive care nurse I know.

'the covid patient has died this afternoon 5ish'

'complications...sadly we couldn’t revive him anymore... so decided to stop treatment...'

'that’s why i haven’t replied right away we were busy tidying him up bless him'

It shows the empathy these people have to their patients
The last message that they were tidying him up, not treating the unfortunate man with anything other than respect despite him having an infectious disease is something special.

I am grateful to all those healthcare workers from top to bottom.
Not only the frontline staff but all the unsung members of staff who keep the hospital running so the doctors and nurses can get on with their jobs.

I agree 100%!
I know of one health care worker amongst our AH group, Ironhorse375. He is an ICU/ER night shift nurse. A very easy going compassionate guy. One, if I ever had to be cared for, I would chose him to do it.
Thanks Ironhorse375 for charging into the face of this pandemic! And thanks to any others on AH. I’d enjoy knowing who you are so I could thank you personally!

The valet drivers at the Baylor Scott & White Heart Hospital in Plano, TX. The parking in that hospital complex is very limited and difficult to get to. The hospital offers free valet parking. Those guys wearing protective equipment are jumping in an out cars all day with out question to provide this service. They have a smile on their face every time.

Great Thread - You are so right as well all have a lot to be thankful for. Unfortunately, many in the Godless society we live are struggling with the fact they only believe in themselves - thus the fear, stress and anxiety in their lives today.

I too appreciate all of those keeping the stores stocked and open but also the countless medical professionals who care for the sick, they are real hero’s in my eyes.

I like the behind the scenes people concept. Every time I go to the store and there is milk or bread or toilet paper or whatever is "rare" I am thankful for the people you never see, some facility somewhere working hard to keep meager supplies made and on shelves. Reminds me of an old country song by Alabama. . .-Want to thank you for your time!
