COVID-19 Coronavirus UPDATES, BANS, CLOSURES, ADVISORY, etc.

According to the South Korea data it appears that a bunch of 20+ year olds have been exposed to the virus sufficient for it to have a toehold in their bodies. It also appears that the bodies are able to withstand the effects and at some point recover from the virus. so what is happening in their bodies that gets a successful encounter with the virus? While not helping those infected can this information help lead to a preventative vaccine?

Is it for a certain period of time like many places are doing in indefinite as of now?

They weren’t specific re: time period - best to consider it indefinite until further notice.

Ouch. That SA travel ban is going to cripple the country.

A lot of people are getting hit in the wallets right now, worldwide.
I wasn't sure to post this here or under "good news" but will put it here.
We need to get ready for the NEXT pandemic, about the end of the year in OBGYN wards around the world. I mean, if a blackout in a few cities that lasts a day or two has an effect, I wonder what 14 days of self-quarantine might do, unless everyone adheres to the 6 foot no contact rule......

Looks like South Africa is closed to hunters from the US and Europe until further notice.

Don't be surprised if the rest of Southern Africa follows suit quickly.

“We will limit contact between persons who may be infected. We’re imposing a travel on ban on foreign nationals from Italy, Iran, South Korea, Germany, the United States, the United Kingdom and China. We have cancelled visas from those countries. We advise against all travel to the EU, the United States, China, Iran, the UK and South Korea – this is effective immediately.

“Any foreign national who has visited these countries in the past 20 days, will be denied a visa. Anyone returning to South Africa from these high-risk countries will be quarantined for 14 days. All travellers who entered SA from these nations since mid-February, are asked to get themselves tested.”

Cyril Ramaphosa

You have a link or source for that?

Thanks for the additional info. I just did a google and found nothing. Where did you find this info?

Typing at the same time.

One of the most germ-ridden and contagious things is money. Everyone uses it every day and I just had a brilliant idea as to how to eliminate this means of transmission. Why don't all of you nice people out there just send me all those nasty bills and filthy coins. I will be more than happy to dispose of them for you---free of charge. Imagine how much cleaner the world would be if I dispose of all that stuff.
I rarerly deal with cash. 99% of the time its electronic debit or credit cards.

But I hear you on the filthy money.

Yeah you posted just before me, I see it there(y). Going to really put the binders on outfitters.:( And be a ginormous PITA for hunters with plans for RSA. I do as well, but not until September. Perhaps things will be a bit more settled by then:rolleyes:. If not, well then just have to see.....

Hopefully, our brothers in the S.A Safari business can weather this travel ban.

I pray this virus doesn't cripple global economies.

It's going to be pretty devastating to the whole industry in RSA. They already had huge challenges with SAA's bankruptcy and potential restrictions on flying from the US through Europe.

One big crap sandwich and we all are going to take a bite.

"There's something out there waiting for us........and it ain't no man".

We're all gonna die". Billy

He clearly said US in his speech but lets get official word tomorrow morning as it all becomes clearer.
The US was not seen as a hotspot but has been included for some reason.

Things could be worse, if you are a Chinese citizen.

A Chinese real estate tycoon has disappeared, after criticizing Jinping's handling of the Coronavirus.

Speak out against your leaders, and a death squad pays you a visit.

SOUTH AFRICA:

President #Ramaphosa: Effective immediately, South African citizens are advised to refrain from all forms of travel to or through the European Union, United States, United Kingdom and other identified high-risk countries such as China, Iran and South Korea.

President #Ramaphosa: Any person who has visited high-risk countries in the past 20 days will be denied a visa. South African citizens returning from high-risk countries will be subjected to testing and self-isolation or quarantine on return to South Africa.

@Jeff75 thanks for posting. I was off grocery shopping.
