My oldest son and I were scheduled to leave next Wednesday for a Red Stag Hunt in Argentina with MG Hunting. We were both absolutely stoked to say the least, I had everything and I mean everything ready to go. Today disaster struck. We received a call from Lori Spears the owner of Travel Express telling us that Argentina has just declared a "travel restriction" on everyone coming into the country from any country having coronavirus issues, including the United States. Everyone regardless of nationality is going to be quarantined for 14 days period. I called our Outfitter (an AH Sponsor) to inform him of the travel restriction. Luckily Manuel Gill (one of the owner's sons) who I'd been talking to for the past 16 months was painfully aware of their Government's recent actions. They will be assessing the situation over the weekend. Needless to say, everything is sort of up in the air at the moment. For those of you that have near term hunts booked you'd better begin looking at plan "B."

Too bad to hear Shootist! I would be pulling my hair out (and I don't have much left!).

The world is spinning right now unfortunately in the worst possible direction. Sorry Art!

Art, I know you are disappointed, but it's a sign of the times. Better to err on the sign of caution and live to hunt another day. I also think that this (COVID19) is a good wake up call for us all. If you have a bucket list of items you want to do in life, you better do it while you can because you never know when the opportunity might go away.

Hate to hear that, hopefully you'll be able to get it rescheduled soon

That sucks, all these travel restrictions and quarantines are going to ruin a lot of plans.

I am quite sorry to hear that. This Corona thing was just beginning to pop when we made our trip to Argentina and hunt with MG Hunting. We had a great trip and hope you are able to work out another set of dates.

My trip to Romania in May looks to be doubtful at best. I am hoping my outfitter is accommodating as they have my deposit!

Good Luck to you sir.
Randy

@Shootist43 I'm not surprised at all. Hopefully you can reschedule in a few months. I expect this to happen in one form or the other to many of our members. My next departure date is in September, so I am keeping my fingers crossed!

Coming soon to the colder parts of the Southern Hemisphere, Ground Zero for the virus.

Sorry to hear, hope you can reschedule in a few months time. Going to be a crapshoot going forward as we all approach our depart dates.

That may happen a lot this year. It's my off year for hunting but have an Alaskan land tour scheduled fo August. Hope things get better by than.

Hang in there more hunting days to come. I was coming back from South Africa when this started breaking out, kinda weird when they board the plane to take temperatures of passengers. Glad I am back in the US.

Sorry to hear this I hope that your outfitter works with you on this.

Sorry to hear that mate, lucky you have an accommodating outfit that understands your position.
Things don't look any better in OZ either mate.
Maybe we could use some politicians for target practice.
Cheers make
Keep smiling it could be worse.

Feel your pain Art, I had plans on a hippo for Easter, and will have to postpone it for September, if everything settles down.

My regards to Art II and Trip (y)

Sorry to hear of your fouled up plans. I remember the morning of 9/11. I was leaving 9/12 on a trip planned for a year. My first thought that morning as initial reports started coming in was that maybe we could still go. By mid morning, the reality of the situation was evident and I had to concede that we were on the cusp of life altering events. Suddenly that trip’s importance paled. I know how you feel at the moment, but with every major event/crisis that occurs in this day and age, we have to continue to expect the unexpected or unimaginable, and be willing to adapt. I am sure you will get your hunt some day. I know I did.

So sorry for you Art and Art II ! We can only hope this quarantine helps fix things soon!
