Great offer, Rouan..............I remember not too long ago when any mature Sable was near to $15K. A 40" plus makes a fine trophy. And at 44" they become real toads..............Thanks for posting................FWB

What's the story with lots of very big sable being offered lately?

Never really see offers for big kudu, nyala. Etc.

Beautiful animal and seems like a good offer, just curious about this, figured I might learn something. One day I want a sable and dont see myself shooting more than one so it will likely be one of these big ones! Couple safaris away though

Love the horns on the pictured Sable, but one of the things I like most is their jet black coloring. Usually it has been explained to me that the brown ones are juveniles. What is the story here?

Good Day Mike

Your observation is correct that there are a few bigger Sable being offer but I still think the numbers are low.

The increase in bigger sable being offer are largely due to the conservation efforts of the Souther African game farmers who brought sable and many other animals back from very numbers in the past.

Good Day Charles

Yes mature bulls do turn black but at different ages and some never go completely black as in the picture above.

If you examine their coat , there will always be a some brown hairs between the black.

Females normally stay brown but could also turn very dark.

Rouan
