COVID-19 Coronavirus UPDATES, BANS, CLOSURES, ADVISORY, etc.

Slightly apprehensive for sure,
Destination costa rica for a fishing trip

I have relatives and friends that cancelled a trip to Europe for this reason. Being still in the workforce, they're not in a position to get stuck in a foreign country and then in the U.S. for an undetermined amount of time.

Not planning to cancel. Not a hotshot where we're going. Lots of money in already.
Of course if we got stuck would be a lot more. Missed work

Some may see it as a waste of money but I always get travel and medical rescue insurance. In years past it was Travel Guard and Global Rescue. Now, it's Ripcord. A friend who was going to accompany me to RSA hurt his back two weeks before departure. He was reimbursed 100% of his travel expenses, gun permit costs and even his safari deposit.

Wheels,
the dynamic is frightening.
A fortnight ago, I wrote of 70 infected people in Germany.
Now, less than 14 days later, we have 1,677 officially infected as of this afternoon.
Please help me to calculate, because I can't believe it, it is an increase in two weeks of almost 2.300 %!
In 3 weeks nobody will book a hunting trip to Africa for 2020.
We then also have no more luxury problems but others.
Uganda now forbids Germans entry into her country !! o_O
They just don't have a corona case there ,yet, because they don't test (can't test?), but millions of Chinese in their countries. At the airports last October,I saw almost more yellow faces than whites.
The economic effects are already devastating.
It is a pity that China cannot be sued.

Considering the number of Chinese in Africa, my guess is the virus was already there years ago. Add in the number of Africans Italy took in over the last few years, it's no wonder it's an epidemic.

According to figures from the International Organization for Migration (IOM), 23,126 people arrived in Italy in 2018, compared with 118,914 in 2017. According to UN figures, 2,458 migrants reached the country from October 2018 to January 2019, the period covered by the most recent ISPI figures. Feb 14, 2019

it doesn't seem to have come from the Africans.
Milan (Lombardy capital) is the epi center of fashion and countless rich Chinese have been shopping there.
The fact that so many may die there may be due to the lack of intensive care beds, the whole of Italy has only 4,000 beds! (we 28,000,not all free, logical) of them.
If you need to be ventilated and your place is already occupied...............

Foxi, The U.S., Germany and Russia have the most foreign born individuals. Many come from Shithole countries where filth and living in filth is normal. They then bring it to the host country. In my state, the health department closes down restaurants on a regular basis. They are invariably Chinese, Pakistani, Indian, Mexican or other foreign born immigrant owned establishments. I don't know about others but that tells me something and I NEVER eat out unless forced. On another note, the politicians in the U.S. screaming for open borders have now shut their mouths.

Hogpatrol,
ours are still open, the lefties and the churches.

If I invite you to dinner and cook for you, you'll come, right?
Bavarian cuisine, not Chinese.

I would definitely accept! It's the same here with "sanctuary" cities filled with unvaccinated, disease carrying (TB amongst others) illegal immigrants from Mexico and Central America.

I think that if I was living in Africa and had lived through the rampant malaria, Ebola outbreaks, and the rest of the tropical diseases one hears about, I wouldn't so worried about the coronavirus. But that's just me.
Yea they have diseases that will actually kill you!

It would be nice if the media, along with reporting the number of reported covid-19 cases & deaths, would also report on the number of flu cases & deaths to give some perspective.

Only way we don't make our trip in a few weeks is if,
1. No plane to get us there and back
2. Known quarantines on either side

Other then that I fully intend to fulfill the current schedule.

Last estimates I saw from CDC was 16,000 flu related deaths this season in the US. Call it Sept - Feb, and that equates to roughly 5300 deaths over 2 months. In that same timeframe there has been 29 deaths due to COVID-19.

In the US alone they are estimating somewhere in the neighborhood of 30 million of the flu this year. That equates to roughly 10 million cases in 2 months.

The estimates being provided really don't match up to the panic being spread by the news....

Not to mention a variety of other fun and fascinating ways to die. Broken by elephants, trampled by buffalo, chomped by crocs/hippos/hyenas, shot by stray AK bullets in some countries, blown up by terrorists in others, pounced by lions/leopards, ran over by some jackass driver...

Absolutely but I’m sure I would have to cancel a ticket and buy a new one. These flights were packed a month ago. Everyone that’s ever flown delta 200 has seen how packed it is. Now it’s showing 30 percent empty. Makes you wonder how empty it really is.
