Real Africa experience or luxury accommodation

For me to enjoy the hunt I need a good nights sleep, so some form of a decent bed is necessary. A daily shower makes life smell better too. I have been in a permanent tented camp and enjoyed it. I don't care about 5 star accommodations but I need a certain level of comfort to be at my best. I'm 62 now. When I was 30 it was a different story. Then I didn't have the $$ hunt Africa........

I will bite too. At my age, I prefer a porcelain god, then a hole in the ground. Building or tent with utilities. Thanks.

I would certainly consider the possibility. Perhaps in the form of a week-long tour of some large piece of land, well away from wifi, paved roads and running water. Going by truck/boat some hours from civilization, setting up camp and hunting for a few days, then moving camp for a few more days hunting before returning. This would have to be more true wilderness, which perhaps doesn't exist anymore.

As was said earlier, it would also have to be significally lower priced than a lodge.

Thanks for the reply and the welcome from every one
I have just completed my very luxury tented camp , with hippo's in the dam 20meter in front of the tends, I fenced it off for the lions and hyenas ,
Why I ask the question , my friend from France came to visit my in 3 weeks time , thy ask to do 2 nights campout in n normal 3x3 meter tent , thy want the real camp adventure

It depends how you define luxury...

Clean and comfortable lodging, yes.

Daily laundry, yes.

Good food, yes.

Cold beer, essential :D Cheers:

Welcome to AH!

I would not mind a cot, pillow and sleeping bag if the cost was right and the hunting was good. I’m use to the basic living and don’t need luxury.

Ranked in order of importance:
1-Good free range hunting and fairly priced.
2-reference #1
3-see #2...
Much further down the list are accommodations/ food/ drink.
The only hitch in my hunting giddy-up occurs when the Mrs accompanies me...need a bit more than h20/freeze dried meals and out-house..

Hi christo pienaar,

If you have some photos of the camp, please post them!

Another benevolent advice:
Many outfitters are sponsors of this forum. Please consider to become sponsor, then you can also advertise and post your packages and offers.
I think this forum is great source of clients! (y)

Also, tell us more about your outfit. Area size, animals available, etc.

Thanks!

Welcome Christo. As others have said basic accommodation comfortable bed mozzie nets, half way decent food and cold beer or rum. Fly camping if moving every day or two and Number 1 priority, good game numbers.

Welcome to the family and the forum Christo! Nice to have you as part of the forum. Enjoy the site!

Until this guy posts something on pay it forward free I would avoid him at all costs.

If it hasn't sold by next week I might be interested. Stock would have to be changed along with some other items. I'm already having a 416 Rigby built so money is a tad bit tight.

Hey pal! I'll take all the .375 bullets if they're available.
Thanks!
