I'll be the first to admit I do not care much for fashion, however I like a nice safari shirt. My favorite is the Rigby one shown here, what is yours?

The most important feature to me is to NOT have a pocket on the shooting side to hang up on the butt. If I get a shirt with a pocket there, I take the pocket right off!(y) But I look for shirts with no pocket on that side and a little pad is good. Cabelas makes a few good shirts that dont look too ridiculous.:(

The Rigby above looks a little ostentatious to me.o_O Only thing missing is cartridge loops, and a leopard print:eek: ascot!:ROFLMAO:

I like the Avedon & Colby shirts.

They are expensive, but I have a couple and I wear them in the field all the time. I have linen one I like for fishing. After several years they still look good, so they wear well. Although, I never considered the shooting side pocket issue. But I haven't noticed any interference at the range or on the field.

I like the one I got free at my last hunt in RSA with the outfitters name and logo embroidered on the chest. I wear it to all political and religious functions, funerals, weddings, family reunions and PETA rallies.

For long sleeve I prefer this Rigby shirt. Very simple, no pocket to hang up a gun on the rhs. Best material I have seen in a safari shirt.

For short sleeve I use Tag, however I do wish they could learn how to sew on buttons!

I agree. I have four of these, and they have been to BC, Argentina, and Africa. They were meant as an advert, but Marc’s marketing folks stumbled on a super well made shirt that gets more comfortable with time. I also have a couple of the Avedon and Colby shirts and find them very heavy and not really comfortable. I would be afraid the one illustrated by the OP, would be guaranteed to be the subject of, should we say, lively conversation among the trackers and PH.

I have two of the Orvis Bush Shirts and really like them.
One is Olive colored (aka dark brown) the other is British Tan.
Soft yet a tight weave durable Poplin cotton.
Just gave one as a gift to our PH.

I agree, they are stiff at first. They soften a bit over time though. But, I certainly understand that concern.

bought some of these several years ago from Cabela’s, part of their Legendary Safari Series clothing line. I like the pockets and they also have a small pocket on the left sleeve. There is a zipper above the pocket to the left that is a pocket behind the button down flap exterior pocket. Very comfortable and they hold up well. I had the elephant embroidery added.

Anything tan / brown / OD green and suitable to the weather seems to work alright for me.

I like my Boyt which of course is no longer made. I have it is short sleeve version and wishing I had a long sleeve one too. My TAG long sleeve shirt the button plackets are too short and makes too hard to roll up the sleeves while wearing.

I am not brave enough to wear that, but I love it.

Beretta makes good hunting shirts and most have a patch/pad on the right shoulder (I guess you lefties are SOL). They also have a line of shooting shirts with a removable foam pad that I use when practicing on the range with my big bore rifles. Their shirts are usually all cotton and hold up really well. I've taken them to Africa on two safaris and use them here in Texas for hunting. Cabela's camo t-shirts are great and I found one of those with a foam pad insert that is also great for range practice.
The Rigby shown above is a little too Hollywood for me (and I have a Rigby rifle), but to each his own.

I would be interested in it if you pass. Please send me the info on the gun shop if you do not buy it. I have the needed ammo and brass.
