New to me CZ550 9.3x62

There are two CZ 9.3s on Gunbroker at the moment. A 550 American Kevlar, and a 550 FS. It would be great if someone on AH could pick them up!

I did go back and obtained the CZ 550 in 30-06. I still can't believe I got it. I'll try to get some pics up later.
You guys are going to have to advise me what to do about the Zeiss it came with. Seems to still be functional if a bit worn finish wise..........
The bore and bolt face look like it never had a round touched off.

Congrats! If the scope is functional I would not dump a quality piece of glass just because the finish is worn.

Thanks WAB! I'll clean it up careful and try to get the model # and other stuff. So far she's looking good for $400+

OK.....
The scope is a ZF4/S with the CZ marked ZKK 600 mount. Very thick post and horizontal reticles. Pretty clear optics. The rear turret seems to be a focus adjustment. I don't have a clue about the front knob. It seems locked or frozen? has a slot screw on top. any instruction manuals for these things?

BTW, the rifle is just a plain CZ 550 with irons. not marked "medium" or "american" Ser# A071915.
Obviously first sold in Europe as it's CIA import stamped. seems to be over a decade old.

I'm working up loads for mine. With Barnes 286g TSX and 53.5g of 4064 I get silver dollar groups at 100 yds off the bench.
I've got Barnes 250g TSX loads from 57 to 59.5g of 4064 at 1/2 g increments with 3 rounds each to try. Looking for my best pg load.
Next project is the same for best dg load. Barnes 286g TSX and 4064. 50 to 53.0g in 1/2 g increments. 3 rounds each.

60-61 grs of 4064 seems to be the sweet spot with the 250 TSX. Velocity will run over 2500 fps. In my rifles it grouped at an inch or under.

Using Norma 203B in my 9.3x62 - 24” barrel.
- 2625 with Norma Oryx 232gr
- 2560 with Accubond 250gr
- 2425 with Norma Oryx 286gr
All at or under 1 MOA. Haven’t taken it hunting yet - can’t wait for our season to begin. The Accubond for longer shots - the 286gr Oryx for the Limpopo bush.

Hi MPD,

Yes. I have had 3 of them, all in BRNO ZKK 601 .308 Win. The three ZKK actions use the same scope, in 4x or 6x with the same kind of mount of different lengths.
There are basically two era of this scopes, differing only the last ones had multicoated lenses.
Its optics are EXCELENT!!! High definition and free of optic defects in the entire field. Also has a wide wide angle field.
Mechanically are very good and strong. Able to resist .458 Win recoil without any issue.
They are not sealed, so they are only splash water resistant.
They have non centered reticle.
The rear turret is for focusing. It has no cover cap, the turret move directly.
The front turret is the elevation one. The outer wheel moves the reticle up or down. Once regulated, the wheel can be locked with the center screw.
The lateral regulation is controlled by that 4 screws in the front end of the base: loose 2 of one side and tighten the other 2 of the opposite side. The entire scope body pivots on the rear axle that fixes the scope to the rear part of the mount. This system is strong but a PITA to regulate....Is good to use with ONE load, not to change loads very often...
Good luck!

Great rifle in great caliber. And yours seems to have pretty wood. Unless someone had it bedded, it is not bedded from the factory. For whitetails I would recommend softer bullets that expand quickly otherwise you may find yourself shooting clean through animals.
I have a full stock model myself. I have found that Norma 232 grain vulcans are just the ticket for deer at 2700 fps a load recommended by John Barsness. I also use 250 grain accu-bonds.

I have yet to find a bullet this rifle doesn't group into an inch or under. I have been amazed at its accuracy. I also purchased from NGGC a peep sight for it in case of scope troubles.

I will have to give these lighter bullets a try. Thanks!
