What do you do when your taxidermist wont respond

Sad when this happens. It boggles my mind why anyone would leave taxidermy in Africa to be done. I know this has been discussed numerous times here, but bottom line is little recourse, subpar materials, training is questionable, communication could be difficult. Ya I get guys want to hope they save some money but I ask.......is it worth it?

Some front view pictures would be great as well as more details regarding the other issues.

@IvW, the white stuff you see is stitching that was not done. Also, If you look closely at the stitching on the back of the impala you'll see the sh*tty job done on this animal. Do you believe this is good workmanship?

JB, in my case I don't believe my taxidermy bill would had been any cheaper if done in the US. Bad on my part for trusting the outfitter recommendation, and the taxidermist. Also, bad on my part for not doing a better research on this topic. I guarantee you one thing though, this will never happen to me again. ;)(y)

What's the point to see pictures from the front? I am showing you what the issue is with this mount. Or do you believe this is an acceptable mount? Maybe this mount suits your standards, but not mine, and I'm sure just everyone here would agree with me that is unacceptable. There were numerous issues with this shipment. I was charged for insurance that was never purchased by the shipping company who is own by the owner of the taxidermist. How do I know that? I asked for a copy of the insurance certificate and all I got was excuses, and nothing else.

I don't want to derail this post any more, and I apologize to the OP if I did.

I had not talked to Dennis in some time, but knew that
my taxidermy was finished and he was crating it last we spoke.
I spoke today with Duane at Artistry of Wildlife.
Dennis had a heart attack week ago Sunday.
Duane said Dennis is still in the hospital, stabilized and
unsure of further medical procedure for Dennis at this point.
Prayers and hoping for the best for Dennis.
Duane and the shop are doing the best they can to get finished
taxidermy crated and shipped at this time.

I think this post tends to put a lot of things into perspective from life’s priorities. As mentioned before, taxidermy pales in comparison to ones health and life. Prayers for full recovery Dennis.

I am certainly not suggesting that this is acceptable. It is not quite clear on the picture what the white stuff is therefore I asked. The other reason is that Highveld Taxidermy is one of the bigger ones in SA and regarded as by many as one of the better ones and it is sad that you had such a bad experience with them seeing as they are also not the cheapest.

Highlighting the numerous issues would also make it easier for future clients to make more calculated decisions.

It is indeed bad for the industry when clients get shafted and I feel your frustration.

Apologies if my comments came across as being supportive of work done which was not up to standard.

We are good! Thank you. (y)(y)
