Tell the UK Government Trophy Trade Bans Are Bad for Conservation

unnamed.jpg

The United Kingdom is currently considering several proposals that would prohibit or severely restrict the import and export of hunting trophies to and from the UK. The UK government is now accepting public input through a consultation process.

Even if you are not a UK citizen or do not have plans to hunt there, your opinion matters in this debate. Tell the UK government that further restrictions are not needed for trophy importation or exportation.

Specifically, tell the government that you support "Option Four" and oppose the other three options because existing rules sufficiently regulate trade in trophies and import bans do not provide conservation benefits.

One of the proposals would prohibit import and export of all trophies, regardless of species and harvest location. This includes ducks, deer, elk and many other common species that clearly need no protections. Implementation of this proposal would be detrimental to conservation efforts worldwide, including North America.
Click here to use Safari Club International's Hunter Advocacy Action Center to tell the UK government that further restrictions are not needed for trophy importation or exportation. You can edit the email in the box provided with any other information you want to provide.

The UK has also issued specific questions in two separate surveys. If you want to answer those questions, you can do so here and here. Submissions are due January 25, 2020.

For AH members, @norfolk shooter posted this info several weeks back and at least some of us (don't know the number) have responded with the "Option Four". SCI was a little slow in getting this info out.

@AfricaHunting.com Thanks soooo much for highlighting this.

Everyone even if you have done so already send another email in and if you haven't done so yet please send one in supporting option 4

@Major Khan @Kawshik Rahman Thank you both very much for this. It means a lot I just hope the UK government sit up and take notice that it would be a huge mistake to ban it all

The consultation has been extended and will now close the end of February to allow for more responses

We are with you , @norfolk shooter . I have sent another e mail again today. All of Kawshik's students at Dhaka Rifle Club also sent an e mail to them today as well ( 40 students ) . We will do everything we can to support your cause , before Great Britain becomes " Great Vegan " .

I sent an additional email through the SCI site too. Glad to help!

Can a fellow member please advise me on what format to use when giving my telephone number when completing the SCI form?

No matter what I try, I am getting the message "Please enter a valid phone number" and I cannot send the email.

Thanks and all the best.

A US number would be as follow: 1112223333

Not sure about the UK. Since the form was created by SCI they must have created the form to allow for a US number only (not too smart).

I would suggest putting in the following: 5555555555
