Well, last night at around 5:45 PM a yearling and mama came out to the field. We were on a crunch since we only had two days left of the regular season and some nasty weather was forecasted for Sat & Sun. I told my friend (the owner of the property) that I was going to shoot at a doe, and he gave me the thumbs up. Well, this doe was not having it and didn't give a shot for almost 10 min. I'm loosing what little bit of sun light I have left, and she finally turned broadside. I aimed, and fired. To my surprise, I saw this doe running with one left dangling, and she is flat out squirting blood, and ran into the woods, she ran appx 100 yds. I got down from my stand, and follow the blood trail, which BTW Ray Charles could have followed into the woods. She was piled up about 20 yds in the woods. When I got to her, I noticed the big hole out of her chest. I guess she must have turned as I was squeezing the trigger, because bullet exit was out of her chest. Not to be too graphic, the hole was about 6-8 inches, took out her brisket, and I don't believe there was any blood left in her. I've never seen this much devastation out of all the Weatherbys I've shot, but I guess it is expected when heavy bone is hit. I was using old stock 129 gr PT EX Weatherby ammo. My friend shot 5 min after me at a cull buck we've been wanting to get out of the gene pool. First time since we've been hunting together that we both kill something on the same day. It was after all a fantastic night.

Congrats Oscar

Two questions, what was the estimated distance you shot at, second how much do you think the doe weighed?

Thank you gents, now I have enough venison in freezer for the rest of the year. :)

@Shootist43, the distance to my feeder is 108 yds (ranged), she was anywhere between 3-5 ft away from it. Her weight, we estimated about 130+ lbs, which is average for does in this area.
