I've been selling and trading a few guns around over the last few months, but I've finally put together a pair that I can't put down. It's a shame you can only shoot one rifle at a time!

1982 M70 XTR Featherweight 7x57
Meopta MeoPro 3-9x40 w/ #4 in Talley LW mounts.
I've got a nice load with PPU brass and 140gr TTSXs over H4350. 3.104" OAL running 2785fps

2013 Hawkeye African 300wm
Meopta MeoPro 6x42 w/ #4 (I have some Alaska Arms QD rings in the mail)
PPU brass again with 180gr Sierra Pro Hunters over IMR4831 (load test ready to shoot)

I'm heavily considering putting another MeoPro 3-9x on the 300wm, and moving the 6x onto my 9.3x62. The 6x42 is a smidge brighter at dusk, but not enough for me to sacrifice the low-end magnification. My thinking with a 3-9x on the winmag is I should never have another reason to take it off.

I have a three day whitetail/hog trip coming up and I'm hoping to blood them both!

Love that Hawkeye!

That is a great two rifle combo! Throw the 9.3 in the mix and you are really shining. I also like The Meopta scopes, I think they are a hell of a lot of scope at a reasonable price. You can reliably catch them on sale at a chain of gun stores here in Houston.
Your hardest decision will be which one to take for plains game!

It appears that you like the Meopta scopes. Do you feel, as many others do, that they compare favorably to high end European scopes?
I do like the Meoptas a lot. I find them comparable to VX3 glass (if not better), and the old Zeiss Conquest MC line. In fact, the MeoPro 3-9x40 is essentially the old Conquest 3-9x MC. I've had two VX3i's puke on me (one would not track, and another had the windage erector pop off), so the Meoptas are replacing them. These MeoPros are clear, light, and extremely durable...most importantly they track. I have used a MeoStar 4-14x56, but did not own it. It was also an awesome scope.

I believe Meopta's #4 reticle is one of the best renditions of the #4 available. The center crosshair is ultra fine for precision work, but it also seems to disappear when you're using the heavies to bracket vitals on moving animals...exactly how the reticle is supposed to perform. The 6x42 is brand new to me, and I have never hunted with it. I'm nervous that I will find it too much magnification for shots inside of 150yds.

I have the 3.5-10x42 Meopro on my custom lowall K Hornet and love it. You can pick up 22 cal bullet holes at 100 yards with it.
I would definitely put the the 3 to 9 on the win mag.

I like the choice of chamberings.
I like the rifles but haven’t found Ruger stocks to be a natural fit for for me so much.

I have one Meopta purchased at a reasonable price. Meo pro 4-12x50 . It’s a BDC reticle, a little fine for lowlight hunting or spotlighting but all that was available and suited my intended purpose till I had other ideas,

Glass is good, reasonably bright in low light.

Their version of Plex should be thicker.

Price increase in Australia was a fair hit on the Meopta scopes, and others I suppose. I just know that one for comparison.

Chris the outer reticle of the ZPlex could be thicker but I cope. Don't like the way the adjustments work. They are very accurate and precise but that bit of plastic on top Mahesh the directions a bit hard to read. My only gripe.
I got mine on sale for $469 posted to the door. My Zies was the same price 5 years later.
Cheers mate Bob

I read somewhere Meopro and Zeiss Terra are built the same specs same factory in a different tube.

I Think I posted that before with no response

Problem is I didn’t get a Terra when they were on clearance and now they are gone,
I think I paid $610 in Dubbo? I think they are pushing up near $ 900 for the 4-12x50 a few years later for comparison .

And I never see second hand Terra listed separately on used read some off putting comments online so people keep them or just bin them if they are not happy. I suggest the greedy buggers keep them.

I would be interested in it if you pass. Please send me the info on the gun shop if you do not buy it. I have the needed ammo and brass.
Thanks,
Ross
