"It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness, it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity, it was the season of Light, it was the season of Darkness, it was the spring of hope, it was the winter of despair, we had everything before us, we had nothing before us, we were all going direct to Heaven, we were all going direct the other way—in short, the period was so far like the present period, that some of its noisiest authorities insisted on its being received, for good or for evil, in the superlative degree of comparison only."

Unfortunately, the dissolution of NAFTA has started a retrenchment in the Canadian economy.

For two decades liberal (left-wing) Canadian policy essentially transformed their economic model from manufacturing to “assembly“. The goods-based production within the Canadian economy was structured to take advantage of the NAFTA loophole.

Goods production in Canada was reduced from full manufacturing to a process of assembling parts brought in from overseas and then selling them into the U.S. market. This process exploited the NAFTA loophole allowing foreign companies to ship parts to Canada and then assemble for transport into the U.S. without tariffs.

Over time the Canadian economy became more and more dependent on this system of brokering goods, while Canada simultaneously dismantled their heavy industry at the request of extreme environmentalists
.

The Canadian government along with the Democrats in America are slow playing USMCA to the determent of both countries.

Secondly, it was obvious in July of this year that Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Justin Trudeau entered into an agreement of mutual benefit. Trudeau would hold back submission of the USMCA for parliamentary ratification, and left-wing political ideologues in the U.S. would help Trudeau win re-election.

At the time CTH forewarned of what this type of political arrangement really meant.

In essence Prime Minister Justin Trudeau was willing to compromise the health of his own economy for stunningly political reasons. There was a perfect storm of negative economic dynamics clearly visible on the horizon…. but few were paying attention.

In combination with leftist economic policies on energy development that strangles economic growth through excessive regulation, the leftist government of Trudeau has dismantled the natural underpinnings of a market-based economy. The manufacturing base of Canada is compromised, perhaps to the point of no return.

If Canada moves to devalue the CAD, it just makes hunting internationally that much more difficult for Canadians. The good news is hunting in Canada becomes more affordable for international hunters.

To paraphrase Dickens' second paragraph:

There was a ruler with weird hair and business acumen on one throne.

There was a ruler with coiffed hair and black face on the other throne.

Well since you brought it up it should be illustrated as well...

The USA has labelled both Canada and the EU as threats to their "National Security" in order to justify new duties declared by their military Commander-in-Chief on the international trade of steel and aluminum. So I suggest that USA made products such as firearms and ammunition should be sold exclusively within the USA so Canada and Europe can help our esteemed neighbour defend themselves and improve their national security. Sadly, I have come to the conclusion that Canadians and Europeans should make do with their own products exclusively. For all our AfricaHunting friends in Canada, Europe, Africa and elsewhere, please don't buy any American made products. Lets's support the USA in their concern. One can never be too careful when there are evil guys to deal with, and it is our duty to help, as always.

Seems like an appropriate time to come back to the beginning. Somehow we've managed to do OK with the tariffs in place and have actually flourished even further, as the global economy is beginning to be fairly reset (still a long way to go, but its sure looking like we will have another five years to get there!).

And as bad as both the EU and Canadian economies are now, relative to the US, can you imagine what they would be like if they had taken @Longwalker 's advice??

Yikes.... :A Banana Sad:

Forgot how this thread started.

It is absolutely amazing how important it is to have a leader that understands what is going on and has his countries interests at heart.

I just re-read the entire first page. It was pretty interesting to see some of the comments a year and a half later, and to see that some of the predictions have indeed come true.

Should be even more interesting when we look back 5 years from now, at the end of Trump’s second term, and see how those predictions have shaped up ;)
Really quite a historic time we live in. Who would have imagined a President who actually did what he said he would do if elected?
If you don’t want to sleep at night, just pause to imagine where we would be if Trump had lost the election...

Trump hasn't even gotten to the truly trans-formative stuff yet. What will America be like when:

American's who have sold out their country for money go to prison. There will be thousands.

USAID, Military sales, etc. are completely revamped after all of the corruption is removed. Budgets may actually balance.:)

Washington DC becomes a shell of itself as Cabinet level departments are axed or moved to the hinterlands. ie: Interior to Boise, Agriculture to Des Moines, Energy to Odessa, Education to Lexington, Transportation to Biloxi, Labor to Wichita, etc. etc. (Something like 9 of the 20 most prosperous counties in America are in the DC SMSA.) Who knows, Virginia might turn red again.

Perhaps the water is lowered to level we can walk across the swamp.

We are blessed to be living in this age of true reformation.

We can all dream.

We can.(y)

Point one and two are happening now. Some people think it is limited to Biden and Kerry with Burisma in Ukraine. Ukraine is much more than that. Dozens of politicians will be implicated. They are not just Democrats either. They are both parties. The difference is the Republicans cleaned house prior to 2018 elections. That is the reason so many incumbent Republicans didn't seek reelection. There are way more Democrats implicated than Republicans. Why is the State Department fighting back so hard with impeachment right now. All of this American aid was going through the US embassy in Kiev to be awarded to nonprofits and companies that would launder much of the money back to the politicians. Barr will pull the curtain back as far as he needs to prior to the 2020 election. Expect a few indictments. After the election, expect to see an unending stream of prosecutions for the next four years.

Also don't think it is limited to Ukraine. American aid goes to scores of foreign countries. Not all is crooked but in no way is it limited to Ukraine. There are many more parties involved than Ukraine. ie: The Biden's and Kerry's exposure to China is much greater than in the Ukraine.

First it was the Panama Papers, then the Paradise Papers. Now you have the papers coming out of London. The world wide racket of fraud, money laundering, bribery is being reduced significantly.

As to my point three. We know that Trump and Mulvaney have looked into combining agencies to dissolve a few. There is way to much push back to do this now. Wait until a second term. IMHO, there is a decent chance that cabinet level agencies get combined, dissolved or disbursed to the hinterlands, thus destroying the swamp that is DC.

I haven't even touched on pedophilia, child trafficking, human trafficking. Epstein, Nixvm, the stuff Hollywood is mixed up in has yet to really be exposed. This crap that has been going on is truly evil. Sessions greatest achievement was getting the ball rolling on all of this. Focus on the politicians, entertainers and men of power that are screaming and yelling about how bad Trump is right now. The take down will be truly epic.

We are living through a truly trans-formative age!

The FISA abuse report is supposed to be released on Dec. 9th. Will the IG cover-up for the Deep state actors, or will we finally see heads starting to roll?

The money and power of the political underground has deep roots.

IG Horowitz only has authority to talk to and investigate current DOJ employees. He doesn't have the ability to subpoena or indict. The key to the IG report is the identity of and the number of referrals he makes to Durham.

There certainly seems to be terrible FISA abuse in the Flynn case. Since the same culprits were involved in other FISA cases, should we expect anything different.

Monday will certainly be an interesting day.

From what we know, the Durham and Huber investigations will be the key. It will also be interesting to know what other investigations are ongoing that we don't know about yet.

The AG has to make the indictments happen. My concern about the IG report, is the possibility of the key players in the FISA abuse being protected, while maybe a couple of the lower hanging fruit end up taking the fall, while the upper echelon walks away.....and gets a book deal....aka ..James Comey.

It is my understanding that FISA's can only happen in two ways.

1. A judge signs the warrant after law enforcement and DOJ signs off on the evidence.

2. The President can legally make the decision himself.

We know there were FISA's on Flynn, Page, Popodopolus and Manafort. There are probably FISA's on others members of the Trump campaign/transition team. We also know that FISC judge Rudy Contraras signed off on the Flynn FISA. Contraras also took the Flynn plea deal. Less than a week after taking the plea deal he was recused and the case reassigned to Judge Emmett Sullivan. Interesting isn't it. Then we have Judge Rosemary Collyer coming out with a 99 page report condemning the domestic spying on Americans through the foreign surveillance process, after Admiral Rogers (NSA) brought the information to the court.

If there are no referrals on the FISA's in the IG report, then the FISA's were probably signed by the President. If the President did it, then the FISA's are legal. The problem is the entire can of worms that is opened with Obama spying on an opposing candidate. If this happened, then the 2020 election is a landslide and the Democratic party may be doomed.

Remember Loretta Lynch's email as her last act in office during the inauguration. "By the book". I don't know what that means, but it makes you wonder.
