When do you REALLY need a double rifle..?

i shot the cow with a old MS in 9.3x62 and the eland-neala with a cz 550 in .375 H&H, I shot 90 precent of the animals I took on six trips with the .375. but with the you wound it and don,t find it, you bought it. the 375 made sense to me.

But, when you do know how to run one I totally agree that nothing has a faster two shots than a double.

... And when you don't know how to run one, those two shots come even faster... ;)

Its a nice toy and we all like them.
The double rifle is essentially not carried by hunters in Germany. Its not a pricequestion.
Even the boar specialists do not carry it and lie on their stomachs in the thickest stuff without a double rifle. They risk their lives also. You dont need an elephant to die.
Ivan CArter(is he still shooting the .450 ? ), a master of his class, pretends as if the second shot is always sitting, woe you need the third shot, then the holy double rifle is not worth more than a baseball bat.
