I consider the Royal Bengal tiger's skin to be the most beautiful . This was my final Royal Bengal tiger , which l shot in 1969 .

A legend among men.

I met the toughest beaver of my life there! Soaked up four rounds of 240 gr hydroshok 44 Mag. If I was a cottonwood tree I’d have feared for my life!

I mean, that Chital Deer skin is gorgeous.

How much would one cost? Could I have it shipped to the UK?

They are quite beautiful , yes.
I have never hunted in the United Kingdom , so l will ask a friend there and find out for you regarding whether or not , you can take a skin into the United Kingdom.

No way?! 44 mag into beaver?! Surely you are joking man... ha ha

A 9 mil and they are usually out for the count

Were you drunk, or was it an especially HUGE ANGRY BEAVER

aha ha ha ha
swear to God! I have never seen anything like it! I had just had that 44 out when a griz walked out of the alders on us at less than 20 yards the day before! After the beaver bonanza it had me wondering if that griz might have inserted that 44 in me!

Get outta here man... surely you are kidding

I dont know a human (even a drugged up one) that could take a 44 mag round... never mind a little beaver

Either he was an ABSOLUTE BEAST OF A BEAVER

or (not discredting you)

1. You missed, without realising
2. The beaver was on meth
3. Something else totally trippy

I honestly can't believe it

I know Alaskan beaver can get pretty big

4 or 5 feet from nose to tail

But a 44 mag?!?!?!

Thats a hell of a pub story

RESPECT

Best wishes

Lol, I’ve killed hundreds of them, most with a 22 Lr. I don’t miss often. I guess I wasn’t that far from Fairbanks so I guess the Meth isnt out of the question! It was definitely Trippy!

In my mind the most beautiful pelt in the world is the sea otter. It was the Czar’s desire for sea otter pelts that drove much of the Russian settlement of Alaska. No problem painting one, but you’d better not have the real thing unless you’re a native Alaskan!

James,
Yes, Alaskan beaver can grow pretty good sized but you ought to see the ones we have in the Allagash region of northern Maine. Not quite so big but, Man, are they ever vicious--and smart, too. They know if you're carrying a gun and they'll leave you alone. If you go near a beaver pond unarmed, those beasts will come out of the water, run up behind you and knock your feet right out from under you with that big tail. Next thing you know, he's dragging you into the pond, We call them the Allagash crocs.
I saw one mean old sucker with no lower teeth. Must have got crosswise of Mama and she swatted him a good one. He was real pissed. He could go only half way around a tree with only half of his teeth.
They are fast. Most people can outrun them but you gotta be quick. They have a knack of seeing people run and then dropping trees trying to hit you. They go through poplars like a chainsaw and their aim is pretty darn good. So, if you trek into the Allagash, be real careful around beaver works.

Pelts?
Not an expert on that, but the question should be what women wear the most?
Leopard
Fox - various subspecies.
nutria
mink
etc

Lion.
Oh im thinking floor rug.
Tiger, Grizzly. All the things i will never have.

When we were in Newfoundland this summer I saw they had seal pelts for sale in the grocery store there. Very soft. Grey that almost shines like silver with black spots. I had to buy one to bring back to Saskatchewan with me!

Any patterned game IMO. All the spotted cats from genet to leopard. The patched, ie giraffe, African wild dog (one of my favorites!), even the spotted hyena, etc. The striped, ie zebra, bongo, harnessed bushbuck, Tiger, kudu female, etc.

If you’re actually hanging furs/skins, then the game changes. As Redleg said the iridescent blue wildebeest rug I have is awesome! Winter killed fox (almost every species), coyote, bobcat, mink, beaver, etc. Late fall northern bears can have magnificent long long hair!

I love the looks of all the patterned species!

A leopard would be a possible contender for me, but a sea otter has the softest, most beautiful fur i have ever touched. i have a fur had made out of sea otter, so am biased
