Eland advice/ideas wanted

I stole this from Bill Capwell several years ago. But I am doing mine on a base pedestal similar to this. But I have a large planter ledge to put it on.

I really wanted to do a wall pedestal of my eland. Space was my limiting factor. However, I am very happy having done the euro-mount and I like how I was able to center my bushbuck with it along with the Cape buffalo above.

I know this sounds crazy, but taxi's can do some pretty artistic things these days-yours is good looking-tips not worn off! maybe a head-only mount (w/ skin and hair ON) to be hung in the middle of a shield made of dry-tanned eland hide. ;) Should be much less than the larger mount AND with the horn configuration should be able to hang vertically and look very nice...can do the same w/ a euro and spare further expense (and space.)

'would look very good putting ALL of the spiral horn euro mounts together as you have! I like the layout of your planned hunting blind-very spacious and well-appointed.

That's hilarious. That is my 'next move house'. Hoping for a theater / trophy room above the garage. We'll see when and if we ever move from our current home. Here's another arrangement of euros: Lichtenstein Hartebeest, Impala, and Southern Reedbuck.

I really like the mount madcox posted and I’m going to go away from the European concept-one of the uniquely impressive features of an eland-any variety, is the dewlap. So I say-show it off! Tom weickum has a new taxidermy form sold by research mannikins that would make a great floor pedestal. I posted a pic of it. Maybe you could internet search just eland mannikins and see what options are available-remembering a good taxidermist can make alterations. Also here is a cedar “stump” I am working with that makes an easy/attractive base but keeps the eyes at eye level since I also have the ceiling height issue.

I have a standard shoulder mount with a slight right turn that looks good on my common eland. I am thinking of doing a wall pedestal for my LDE. I also would love to hear others thoughts on this.

Did mine on a triple pedestal, no matter what you do they are as you know big animals.

I would be interested in it if you pass. Please send me the info on the gun shop if you do not buy it. I have the needed ammo and brass.
Thanks,
Ross
