Those numbers have a way of creeping up on you don't they?! I'd hate to know all the money I've lost buying, selling and trading guns.

Too long to specify all of them, so...

36 Pistols
21 Revolvers
14 Rifles
7 Shotguns

Air pistols and rifles, I just can´t remember.

I’m not going to even try! There are two in my damn pantry just Incase I’m getting some cereal and someone decides to break in. My ex wife always thought it was a little over the top but what does she know! Lol

That's why they're called EX wives.

@Bullthrower338 the pantry is perfect! I bet the pistol used to be concealed in the chicken in a biskit box, but it was too confusing... and kinda stressful when a friend grabs the glenlivit and crackers.

I get most of the comments on the 1911 in the spice cabinet and the FAL next to the toilet, but I figure if you are gonna get caught with your pants down, you will be better off with a 308 close by.

Money you LOST????? Bought low and sold high is more like it. Pretty soon the BATF is going to be insisting that you get an FFL!!!!

Toby,
I’ve been trying to find this thread for awhile. I thought it would be under Firearms and Ammunition. Anyway, I just showed this to my wife. She saw the 214 total and said, “Don’t even think about it!”. But, I think your thread here has enabled me to show “good cause” ( as required by the authorities in the UK) to purchase a few more firearms in the future!
Thanks Toby!

CEH,
I have through long and expensive research that women do have several different levels in response to gun buying by their husband.
1st stage happens in the first 20 firearms, they think that it is cute that you have found a hobby

2nd stage between 21-59 guns, they start to make comments such as what the hell do you need another one of those for!

3rd Stage is severe and can happen any moment after 60 guns(really well over 100 because you have snuck at least 40 past her while she was pissed off about something else)
At this stage you start to get called names and she complains about bills not getting paid on time because you just had to have a new 44!

4th stage is when her lawyer is trying to find out exactly what your firearm accumulation is worth for the pending divorce.

This is a GREAT analysis and very accurate! I’m definitely smack dab in the 2nd stage. But since I’ve been here on AH and checking out African hunting, I can subtly show her “good cause” why I will need a/few large bore hunting rifles? I have two, maybe working on a third? It’s a very DELICATE balance and timing is everything. Ha! Ha! Ha!

Indeed, when she catches you in the middle of the night on gun broker or guns international and you tell her that you are on Ashley Madison trying to line up an affair, you know you are on thin ice!

Ha! Ha! Ha! But it has happened! “What are looking at on your phone?” “National Geographic “ “See these African animals?” “Oops! Not the dead one with Toby the Park Ranger standing over it with his rifle” “must have had rabies and charged him?” Or, “Are you looking at guns again on your phone?” “No, just one gun”.

Glad to be of assistance!

@CoElkHunter There is also a stage 2A where you buy her her own safe and have rifles in 22lr 7x57, 338, 375, and several pistols. Then get her to hunt on the first safari she goes with you on and the next 3 -20 safaris she shoots more game than you do. Understand that the ammo bill, new firearm presents, and taxidermy bill go up based on the female sliding scale.

I've never owned many. The count is at 5, now. I've only ever sold one, and that was actually a trade-in. I've been issued about 10, though, at various times, for shorter or longer periods.

AZDAVE,
Well, there is no stage 2A in my life. My wife doesn't hunt, but she does enjoy eating game meat. We have elk meat 1-2 times/week. My wife is a quilter. But she does wish that I would go hunting more often, so she can sew/quilt in peace. But what she paid for her "long arm" quilting machine a year ago, leaves me quite a bit of room (good cause) to purchase more firearms. She has mentioned to me that if I were to go to Africa hunting, she might go along if the lodge had a swimming pool. I told her they might have one, but Africa hunting is in their winter and the pool might be frozen. I then told her that maybe if the lodge was by a river, she could swim in that! We'll see! Ha! Ha! Ha!
