Just back from hunt near Dalhart in the Texas Panhandle - 30 hunters with this outfitter and 30 bucks taken!

All were fat and healthy . Here is mine:

My son scored first and his was larger than mine. Then my friend with his flintlock scored Friday afternoon.
The outfitter also does taxidermy , so we sent the heads and hides home with him. Their operation is in Junction, Texas and we expect to pick up out finished mounts at the DSC show in Dallas next January.

Friday night meal was grilled back strap and it was great! Ours are now at Po Boys Outback Game processors and we should have it soon.

Congratulations.

Congrats, nice buck!

Congratulations CRS! Speed goats are a lot of fun!

Congrats on a nice speed goat. Would you mind posting some details on the hunt and outfitter? I’d like to get one of those myself in the future.

Congrats on a great buck!

Congrats!

I've been trying for 2 years to get my hunting buddy to commit to a Panhandle pronghorn hunt while slots are still available. The season is 1 week plus the bracketing weekends Sat & Sun, so it doesn't last long and sells out fast!

Congrats, thanks for sharing!

Yes congratulations fine speed goat.

Nice goat! Pronghorn hunting is one of my favorite hunts. I've been 3 times but not for 20 years. I may have to go one more time while my dad is still in good shape.

More pix!

Please excuse pic mess above - new laptop . Will post final pic later.

Son's buck, shot the evening we arrived at lodge. This was his first pronghorn and he was VERY pleased.
He and I were shooting .308 rifles and both took shots at 200 plus yards with good results in poor light of a cloudy day.

MSHitman,
Yes, I will provide information and contact info. All I am sure of right now is the outfitter is based in Junction , Texas and that he books hunts over a wide range of territory, including Australia.

30 out of 30! Amazing!
Congratulations to you and your son!
My family loves antelope as long as it’s cleaned, cooled, and cooked properly.

That’s exactly what I was thinking!

MS Hitman and all:
The outfitter was Pope Brothers Guide Service and Outfitting, based in Junction, Texas.

They have been hunting the Dalhart area for 20 years and have made arrangements with many farmers and ranchers to buy their Texas Landowner Antelope tags for the hunters they book. A look at a map of the Texas Panhandle will show you that Dalhart is near the borders of Colorado, New Mexico and Oklahoma and just south of the Rita Blanca National Grasslands (Pronghorn Honey Hole). This is a target -rich environment and the Pope Brothers have a near 100% record over many years of hunting the area. If a flintlock shooter can get a buck, most any shooter of a modern center fire rifle should certainly score!

Theirs is a family operation that includes a Taxidermy business- A2Z Taxidermy.

Good hunting!

It's good to see he got his act together. I hunted with them many years ago way down south from his house. New property so he wasn't ready for hunters. Bad experience. I was only doing hogs btw.
Obviously he turned things around, he was a super nice guy.
