For Sale 378 Weatherby $1,800 Trolls Keep Scrolling

*Many of the other, larger company cartridges marketed just do not make any sense at all in reality ("we've released this thing that shoots slower, or the same velocity as the previous X, but here's a kick-ass commercial for you to see at the bar with your buds and buy one!") L O L 'Murica. Do your due diligence and you will find that there are about 10 cartridges that will git-r-done and you can spend the rest of your hard earned $ on more important things like your kids! (in other words, MUCH repetition or even steps backwards in the industry. WSM is faster w/ a lighter/shorter gun than Nos, etc.) LOL
Yes, and I understand the “latest and greatest” phenomenon regarding rifle cartridges. The competition is stiff , so rifle/cartridge manufacturers need to keep producing new stuff to pique everyone’s interest. If I was younger, I might jump in too. But for me now, I’m looking at proven rifles/cartridges which I can afford and find reasonably priced ammo for them.

Similar SD & BCs can be had with .243 & .257 bullets but tighter twists than standard are required and the bullets look like pencils on their way to becoming javelins.:)
Yes, even the .26 s have great SD and BC I.e. the .264 WM with 140gr bullet?

i absolutely love .264. It'll kill (and win) everything in the right hands! :) Love my .264 WSM. Respect the .416 as more of a dangerous game stopper, but the .264 (w/ solids and a brain or heart/lung shot) will do the job! My son as a young kid used to pick off woodchucks at 550 yds with it! So many memories...shooting an Aoudad up steep cliffs at 450-700 yds. It is simply amazing, due to the high BC and SD of the heavy-for-caliber long bullets, which lose very little V and E over distance at high muzzle velocity...

The results of this ad were pretty much as expected. Place a button in a room with nothing but the button and then invite people in and tell them "Whatever you do, DON'T push the button! ". Some can't help but push the button.....

NO LONGER FOR SALE ON THIS SITE.
Aww, you took your rifle and went home. In ALL CAPS of course. How can you expect people not to have some fun your post is passive-aggressive, borderline hostile right out of the gate. Lighten up on the CAPS and EXCLAMATION points, and yes if you are asking 1.8k for a rifle people will want pictures.

With your lead off post you expected something else? It was pre ordained, just like you planned it.;):D

I'm late to the party.

Some of these posts border on child-like school yard behavior. I can listen to people and learn from them. I'm too old for this type of nonsense. Caps were used because I was trying to make a point.
I worked in coal mines and power plants all my life and met wonderful people as well as those I would rather forget. Never had the money to go to Africa but wanted to since I was 7 years old listening to my dad talk about the amazing place it would be to hunt.
So I've had my brushes with fine men and bullies, both can be found most everywhere. But if sitting around the campfire after a good days hunt enjoying a nightcap with rude people is the norm, maybe I didn't miss as much as I thought.....

Yah, you made your point very plain from the first post onwards.

Our poor friend Bas has been shell shocked by years of silly as hell comments by the GGE (google gun experts)

Weatherby makes some of the finest rifles ever designed and manufactured. The rounds that they designed over the years have set the mark for power, distance and accuracy.

At present I have about a trunk load on Weatherby rifles and over the years have sold many times that amount.

In all those years.......never a jam......never a broken rifle. I did have to fix 2 Weatherbys because their owners decided to play gunsmith and completely take them apart and loose a few of the pieces.

Some have talked quite a bit of smack about the Weatherbys here. One guy offered that he had 7 and everyone of them broke. Another spouted off how they jamb, both going in and coming out. Another said that the 9 lugs are of a poor design and won't " cam out" the fired case. So how it it supposed to cam in and cam out?

And maybe I could be wrong, but the highly recomended bolt action Blaser not only doesn't cam in, but it is also a push feed. So why does it take no flack like any other push feed?

you AH brethren are such meanies...please don't treat me like that when i'm old. :A Blowup:never, EVER had a bad bone discussing anything around a campfire we shared in Africa. Never heard a PH say anything good about a Wby >375, either. **Typically, that fire is reserved for you, but sometimes you share it with others...We'll all be old oneday and I hope to God we are not angry and mean to others-who we will surely need even more at that time.
Much like the Energizer Bunny-Still Going! LOL

I SHOOT A .378 WEATHERBY !!!!!

The range where I shot was mostly used by 1,000 yard benchrest shooters. Almost all of their competition guns are 6.5 mm caliber. The chamberings vary, seemingly determined by how long the owner wants the barrel to last. The casings I've seen generally were 6.5x284 and smaller.

I Wonder why engineers haven't proportioned many other bullets to the same air slicing characteristics ?

I think its best to lead with the features of a weapon to find the right customer, don't you?

378 Weatherby:

71lbs of felt recoil in a 10.25lb gun shooting a 300gr bullet. With the subject gun being around 9lbs, the recoil is 85lbs.

The original post is correct, the days where jacket separation from the centrifugal force of such an arm are over. You can shoot mono-metal bullets with a 378 Weatherby flawlessly. The monometal bullets will properly open without the petals sheering off at most distances now.

Best part, for 225% of the felt recoil of the .375H&H the .378 Weatherby provides an additional 35 yards of Maximum Point Blank Range, increasing it from 250 yards to 285 yards. So for those shots from 250-285 yards you just point and click with no firing solutions required.
